Status Code 80040000

Hello I am trying to watch an episode on xbox video and I have been receiving an error code message. Playback Error An error occurred during playback. Status code: 80040000 This has been happening multiple times.

So i tried t connect to the internet but it didnt let me. I deleted my profile and when i tried to redownload it from x/live it said that profiles cannot be downloaded, at the bottom it said the code
800704cd. Please help!!

Hey there Fever! Are you still seeing this same error code? If so, let's see what we can do to get things sorted!

To start off, here's a few questions for you to help us better understand the situation:

Are you connected to Xbox Live when you receive this error?

What exactly are you trying to watch on Xbox Video when you receive this error?

Are you able to watch other things on Xbox Video without any issues? Is this error specific to that one video?

Can you try running the network connection test on your console? If so, what does it say?

Fever, I can't help you, but was hoping that Mister Cerb could help me with the same issue. We are watching Bruce Almighty (rental) when we received this error. We were connected to XBOX live and are able to watch our downloaded content without the error
popping up. We've restarted the video three times and are getting the same error each time and in between the error codes the playback is terrible (grainy and stopping every few seconds). We tested the network and everything was perfect on that end. This
is the second time this has happened (this time is worse) and we are sick of paying for content that we can't see more than a few seconds of without it going grainy or buffering for several seconds (and we checked our internet and can watch Hulu/Netflix just
fine). Any help would be appreciated.

I also keep getting this error message when i am in xbox video (previously known as zune video).

To answer the above questions:

1. yes i am connected to xbox live when this error is received. My internet can get a little touchy sometimes, due to it being wireless.

2. Generally movies that i have purchased. Last night it was Doctor Parnassus Imaginarium, the other day it was the movie "Blow" with Johnny Depp. The other week it was RIPD (which it wouldnt even let me play.

3. Generally yes. Usually the newer the purchase the less problems i have.

4. I run this test everytime i have issues and my signal shows up strong (between 3 and 4 bars) and the xbox connects well. No connectivity problems.

Please let me know if you need any more details. I would be more than happy to provide them in hopes that this problem can get fixed.

Okay so this is just in the order of my 'Quickplay' feature on my Xbox.

Zune Music - Working perfectly.

Zune Video - Working perfectly.

Last.FM - Working Perfectly.

Blinkbox - Disconnected with status code mentioned above.

LoveFilm - Disconnected with NO status code.

MUZU.TV - Disconnected with NO status code.

Dailymotion - Disconnected with status code mentioned above.

MSN Video - Disconnected with NO status code.

YouTube - Disconnected with status code mentioned above AFTER there is an attempt to play a video.

Demand5 - Disconnected with status code mentioned above.

4oD - Disconnected with status code mentioned above.

I hope this helps you come to a solution
