Status Code: 4174 0000 3000 0906 8007 0070

My kid's Xbox 360 worked fine last night. They powered it on today and it says it needs an update although the xbox in our living room didn't?

Anyway, I attempted to download the update and it gets Status Code: 4174 0000 3000 0906 8007 0070

I also attempted to download the drive from the support site and install it via USB but i still get the same error code.

I tried to search for this error code on the xbox site as well as google and could not find an exact match.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Problem

You may see the following error code and message when you try to update your Xbox 360 console or purchase content:

xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-8007-0070

Can't download the update. To test your connection, open System Settings and select Network Settings, Test Xbox LIVE Connection.

Note The “x” characters in the error code vary.

This may mean that there’s not enough space on your storage device (mostly likely the Xbox 360 hard disk) to install the update or the content.

Solution

A console update or content download may require significant hard disk space. If you don’t have enough free space, you need to move or delete some items. For information about how to do this, see Copy, move, or delete Xbox 360 content.

Note You may be able to resolve this problem by obtaining a larger-capacity hard disk. For example, the Xbox 360 320 GB Media Hard Drive is available from the Microsoft Store.
