Stats and Leaderboards

I kinda like the lay back approach they took with this game. They don't have people going crazy over stats with K/d ratio and all that other shyt. Plus they make it ok to lose. lol it takes the frustration out of losing. I kinda like trying to make my way
to the evac.

 

Yes, it's fun making one's way to the evac but there should be a better reward or something. Could be like this: kills still count for winning team and deaths still count for losers/ evacuees; also, successful evacuation gives extra burn card slot next round?

Again, after playing another hour or two, today; to reiterate: more stats and more leaderboards are better. I really miss the better stats and leaderboards of COD, despite finding the Titanfall gameplay, itself, fresher.

 

IMHO i think the less stats the better that way everybody plays for fun and don't take it to serious cos after all it's just a video game.

By the way my k/d ratio sucks but I'm determined to get better for the benefit of my team not for myself

 

I dont really care if they add leaderboards or not, as i never look at them. (for the reason mentioned, they are a joke due to hackers) Thst said, id love to see a friends only leaderboard which literally only took you and your friends into account.(ie #1
would be you friends with the best stats, with no mention of a global ranking) Would completely remove the modder effect while maintaining the competitiveness)

 

I like to look at what other peoples stats are to see what types of players I'm up against something I like about call of duty games, it's a shame titanfall don't have this feature but I do enjoy the game all the same

 

Thank-you, Sarah Louise. Another thing I've noticed is that people are ignoring the objective and camping more as with no other easily comparable stat apart from K/D, there is no reason not to. No table ranked according to kills etc. means that people are
trying not to die rather than trying to engage.

 

I hope tey keep leaderboards out of TF, been in a few lobbies with people that were discussing their KD's and it simply wasn't as much as when the party didn't.

Lets face it the leaderboards and stats don't represent anything important anyway.

1 party the fella was telling use his KD, he also mentioned he always played in a 6 with all people of the same gen, he was gen 8, he also mentioned he only played the campaign, because its a much easier game.

Anther party member only plays attrition because he can't handle the lower KD's anda bigger challenge or possibly losing.

both happily back out of lobbies they might possibly lose, both rage quit half way through games, both will do anything to keep a high KD.

I always try and play variety pack, never back out half way through a game, always try and play the objective and more importantly have fun and laugh most of the way through.

Personally i would like match making to actually match people properly, if you play in a 6 all high gens you should be playing a 6 of similar gens, (please replace gens with skill, since gen is irrelevent)

 

this game is fun, but your right about not having a competitive side to the game. Im almost at lvl 50 and have well over half of the game achievements and wonder how soon I will become bored with the game. I would also be happy to have a private lobby
to play in and a survival playlist where me and others can go up against hordes of enemies. I do realize this is a different type of game but it does feel like I was taken for 30$ since it really is half a game.

 

Anybody claiming that they don't want leaderboards, may as well be saying "hey, let's stop keeping score in professional sports, too. Let's just watch athletes run around, kicking balls and having a good time and not worry about who wins or loses."

If you don't want to pay any attention to leaderboards, don't, but, why take away the option? The only possible answer is lazy game design. I.e. no-one could be bothered implementing it. (No offense, game makers, as I applaud the efforts, here, to incorporate
parkour in a tight FPS).

TL;DR What Red KillMachine said -- I am on 3rd gen, now, but wonder what is the point of continuing to play: just to get a "4" badge?! In Ghosts, one had the option to choose a leaderboard and attempt to top it, this was a compelling and engaging activity,
what has Titanfall got along those lines?

 

I don't have a problem with leaderboards, what I have is a problem with people using leaderboards to determine how they play the game.

Lets say you have a leaderboard area, were match making is brilliant, your truely matched against teams of the same skill level, and teamwork.

the above I would be interested in, the problem is 95% of the people wanting leaderboard, want to keep playing against teams and players of a lesser skill and then saying they are brilliant. Then padding there stats against lesser skilled players to show
their class, when infact they don't have any.

The leaderboads in COD are pointless, since its down to time played not skill.

 

@Durashka - This is a video game - not professional sports. Everyone has the ability to go out and buy Titanfall and play. In professional sports you have to earn your spot in the league based on demonstrated skill. There are skill requirements for being
a professional sports player. There are no skill requirements for playing Titanfall.

I also think your wrong to call the developers lazy. I think this was a concious decision so that players would not be comparing each other using leaderboards. It's refreshing! I think you need to really consider all the positive effects that come with not
having leaderboards.

 

It's not just professional sports that keep leaderboards, plenty of amateur competitions go on in every sport all over the world. As I said, crunchy1X, no-one forces players to look at the leaderboards: if you want to ignore them, you can. It is better to
giver players the option. Clearly.

If developers want to hand that aspect over to third parties like MLG, that is their prerogative, it's just stupid, is all. Sadly, if that's the case, when it does come to the surface as an issue, IP lawyers will enter the fray and then
everyone loses.

 

^^I bet NOONE starts a lawsuit because TF doesnt cater leaderboards, LOL. Leaderboards are useless. I like personal stats kept so I can see what "I" have done, but no need for everyone to see. Also answering another poster. THIS FPS crowd and community is
terribad. If you think matchmaking only high generations against high generations will work, YOU are wrong. Nobody would generate and they would be non generated non prestiged players with 40 days played, playing other beginners that havent prestiged yet OR
players that are just beginning, amiriot?

 

@Durashka your missing the point, any sport that has a leaderboard also has skilled matching (eg leagues with people of a similar skill), and no FPS offers this in any sensible or accurate way. Therefore whats the point of a leaderboard?

@mitchell, being higher generation doesn't mean high skill, so genning would be relative to the team your in, it might be harder it might not, all depends on how you want to play, who you want to play with, and how important gen 10 is to you and how fast
you get there.

 

Guys, don't look at the leaderboards if you don't want to, but, allow those who do to look at them, if they want.
