Stats and Leaderboards

I was trying to prove a point. Someone who has, what I assume to be a fairly high KD, doesn't want a lobby leaderboard.

I like tracking my own stats...but lobby leaderboards leads to cheaters, boosters, hackers, exploiters, ect. I am not one of those. But nice try ; )

Lets be honest...

While I love the idea of leaderboards and I often check them, they are fairly meaningless.

Leaderboards are full of hackers, cheaters, boosters and people who have 50+ hours a week to play video games. People manipulate efficiency stats (ie KD), and bulk stats (ie total kills) are amassed from playing an extreme amount of time.

 

Status leading up to launch

So you dont want people to get a jump on the stats/leaderboards? I think the matchmaking is up, therefore saving stats. If thats the case, when the leaderboards come up, those people will still have their stats? Makes sense to me.

 

I personally hate leaderboards.

The only thing they prove is who is the best modder, glitcher and cheater.

On the 360 there are absolutely no leaderboards that are genuine. Usually to top few thousand scores are fake.

In COD to top few thousand scores are modded. Even the xbox one version has modded scoreboards.

I was glad when I saw there was no leaderboards in Titanfall. As leaderboards will mean those same type of people who think they are awesome having modded scrores on the top of the leaderboard will ruin titanfall by cheating.

 

Yep I agree with many, leave the public leaderboards out! We do not need people camping, boosting etc....to get a better K/D.

 

I like being able to compare my stats to friends and players around the world, but as people have already said it leads to cheaters exploiting the leaderboards. Some players care about their stats to the point where they would
"dashboard" a game so their K/D is not affected.

 

Those dasboarders are annoying.

They do it just to hide the fact they are crap.

I never quit matches and my k/d is something like 0.5.

But at least mine is an honest k/d. A lot of people with positive K/D ratios would likely be negetive like mine if they were not cheaters and never dashboarded.

 

Wanna see leaderboards? Step 1. Take out titanfall. Step 2. Go back to playing COD.

COD keeps track of my Titanfall stats? Why am I only finding out about this now? I'll have to pick COD up when I go out later.

 

I will mention that the most hacked CoD game ever was developed by "basically" Respawn/IW, MW2. All games can and will be eventually modded or whatever. Its the post release support thatll have an effect on that.

 

More stats are more leaderboards are good.

The world leaderboards on Ghosts kept me coming back, trying to rank higher, hour after hour, day after day. This potentially makes matchmaking quicker and lag shorter which equals a better game for everyone which means more sales for the developer. Everyone
wins.

I don't want to get personal or into an argument but I genuinely believe that most people who claim they prefer no leaderboards do it for the wrong reasons. People make out that hackers ruin the game and it it just not true. People will glitch, mod, boost
and hack no matter what; leaderboards or otherwise.

TL;DR: More stats and more leaderboards are better... much better. I like the graph: the last ten game K/D is good graphed, but there are bunch of stats and boards that Ghosts had that Titanfall lacks and it is a drawback of the game.

My K/D still sucks despite a lot of play so it is not like I want to see my ranking to boast but it motivates me and is more fun to know how I compare.

Games in general should try to make stats more available and more flexible. It is fascinating to go through your play history and work out your strengths and weaknesses -- what to focus on, etc. I truly believe a lot more can be made of this aspect of gameplay
(comprehensive, accessible and flexible databases of statistics) as multiplayer becomes the norm for gamers everywhere.

*More stats "and" more leaderboards are good. Also... there are "a" bunch of stats.... (Sorry.)

Oh, and K/D should go to at least two decimal places!
