Discus and support static when using bitstream in XBoX on Consoles to solve the problem; went on battlefield 4 today and all i keep hearing is static and a crackling sound it dont happen all the time i can just hear it i also noticed it on...     went on battlefield 4 today and all i keep hearing is static and a crackling sound it dont happen all the time i can just hear it i also noticed it on plants vs zombies and thief my srtting is astro a-40's HDMI audio stereo uncompressed, Optical audio
    bitstream out, bitstream format Dolby Digital

    Do you have the same problem when using DTS as Bitstream format? Are you having the chance to test if sounds work correctly when using the optical out?

    I just noticed it today as well during. bF4. I tried changing out cables and swapping inputs on my receiver. Nothing worked. I also tried out BF4 on my ps4 and it was fine there. I think they have to iron out the Dolby digital issues. They better at least

    I am using an Onkyo receiver and I used to run my ps3 through it via bitstream with no problems. With the xbox one i have noticed some strange 'popping' noises when using bitstream. If i switch it so that the xbox handles the dts/dolby then the popping goes.
    Put it back to the bitstream and the popping reappears. I think also I am losing some audio as it sounds clearer when the xbox handles the sound. Ultimately though my Onkyo would handle the sound better and give me more flexability.

    I've heard the same thing, but honestly I think it's just another bug in BF because as soon as I exit BF it goes away. I have had to do a power cycle on the XBOX to fix this problem.

    I think it's a bug in the XB1 itself. It happens for me no matter what I was doing . But then it stopped now for about 5 days. That's why I think it's a bug in the system itself.

    Kingvas78 Bitstream only works if you are hooked up to an amplifier that can handle and decode dolby or dts
