    I have been having a static/popping sound coming through my headset with my adapter on my Xone since I first got it (around May). It is so much worse on games like Forza but I still hear it on every other game and it completely ruins my experience. I have
    already tried every step that has been recommended by "Microsoft Officials" (such as power cycling, updating controller w/o batters in, etc.) and NONE of them work, if i power cycle the problem goes away for maybe 5 minutes. I have also purchased the turtle
    beach XO seven expecting that it could be my headset, but it still doesn't work. Now I have tried 3 different headsets, 2 xbox ones, 3 TVs, 3 HDMI cables, 3 Headsets, 3 Headset adapters, 3 controllers, and I still get the same annoying crackling pop (I also
    have 3 friends experiencing the same issue). Now I assumed that this problem would be fixed soon way back in May when I first got my xbox one but nope, this problem has been going on for almost 5 months for me and probably longer for other people. It is
    absolutely ridiculous that Microsoft has still not fixed this problem and we get no support from their "officials" unless its just recommending the most basic steps that everybody has already tried (kind of like when your internet is bad and they tell you
    to turn off the modem for 10 secs, like you haven't already tried that). I have been a loyal Microsoft fan since the original xbox but this problem is ruining my experience and if its not fixed soon I don't think I will be able to continue w/ Microsoft. PLEASE
    get this issue fixed ASAP or give us some real info behind it so we know whats going on.

    Bluetooth Wireless Headset Popping Noise

    Hello,

    When I use the headset for the Xbox I hear a random popping sound, it's kind of annoying besides the static. Anyone else have a similar sound coming from their bluetooth headset?

    Anyone else with X07 headset have static/popping when moving around on dashboard menu? Sounds terrible anyone else with any kind of static/popping comment so we can hopefully get this resolved.

    Popping/Crackling Sound From Friend's Xbox One Headset

    Sounds like he may have a loose wire in the headset. Please have him try a different headset. If there is no popping sound coming from his end with a different one then that would be the issue.

    So your headset and adapter are working you just get the static/pops, there as been a lot of issues with this I am not sure if a fix was found, do you get the static/pops if you use the headset that came with the console.

    I experiencing the same static junk! Picked up my xo sevens and when I'm in a chat with friends the static that comes through when they talk is terrible! The cheap headset Microsoft gave us with the xbox has better chat audio! Please please fix the static
    issue! Both of my friends that picked up the chat adapter for their x12's are going through the same stuff! I know it's not the headset. Game audio sounds great just the chat sounds bad.

    Optical Cables

    As the others already suggest, I'd doubt that the muffled sound comes from the optical cable.

    Since the sound data is transmitted digitally through the cable, it either works, or does not work.

    Anything "in between" would result in loud scratching, static noise or similar sound drop outs.

    It's not possible for a digital signal to become "muffled".

    So try to use your Astro headset on a different device just for testing if possible. I very much suspect, that the issue is on the headset itself, if sound is muffled.
