Static image at startup, and green screen when playing video

    Hello,

I have some problems with my newly bought Xbox one x - I'm not sure if they are results of the same problem though.

So, for starters! When I start the Xbox, I'm greeted by a static/noise screen, but the audio is playing fine. In other words, I still have no idea of how the animation in during the start up looks like yet after 2 weeks of owning the console. After googling
a bit, I've seen people with the same problem, but not yet a something that fixes the issue (for me at least).

The other problem is that all video playback results in a completely green screen, but working audio. This is true both for videos in the xbox store, videos played through the web browser or in apps such as Youtube, and also blu-ray discs.
In all cases the sound works though.

I've tried to reset the console to factory settings (a few times), I've tried different HDMI cables and different ports on the TV. I've also tried all thinkable combinations of display setting on the xbox - different color depths, not allowing certain refresh
rates and so on, but the only thing I get is a green screen with sound.

I've also tried a different TV (an old Samsung 32inch 720p), with the same results. My current TV is a LG OLED 55B7, on which I've also played around with settings.

Games seems to work fine though, as I so far haven't had any problems with that (yet).

Is there something else I might be missing? Or is it simply a defect console? I would think it would be something related to software, seeing how everything else seems to work.

Anyone who as encountered something similar?

    :)

  2. Vertical Lines on Screen with new Xbox One S

I just got my new Xbox One S last night and I need some help. There are vertical lines on my screen any time it tries to play a video or moving image. They are there during the green Xbox logo startup screen and various other places. I used the Twitch
app and the lines are only displayed on the video and not on the border or the chat. I have tried hard resets, different HDMI cords, and different TVs. Also the number of lines seems to increase based on the quality of video. I noticed the number increase
as the Twitch stream increased in quality.

Here are some images of what I see.

    Stuck on green screen

Our xbox started getting stuck on the green startup screen the other day. We tried both reset options, unplugged and replugged, and did everything else we could find to do to no avail. After waiting forever for everything to download again, we are back
at the green startup screen. Please help.

Xbox static boot up screen and green with streaming Videos.

You know the little short video that plays on an xbox one x before the xbox green screen logo? Thats when its static/snowy. Then it shows the normal xbox logo. When trying to use any video streaming app is when all i see is green screen with audio.

I tried what you suggested, it went to 680x680 like you said but it only dispayed the static/snowy screen in lower quality and still experienced the green screen with audio only on netflix and hulu.

To use the display troubleshooter, follow these steps:

    1. Check the current resolution setting on your TV.
    2. Set the resolution to 1080p if your TV supports this resolution. If your TV only supports 720p or 1080i, set your TV to 720p. Then, on your console, select the matching resolution on the
      Change your display screen.
    3. If your resolution is set to Auto Detect, select 1080p from the
Change your display screen on your console.
Note For more information about TV resolutions, see

About TV resolutions and Xbox One
    .

If the screen changes to full size, you've selected the right resolution. To keep this setting, select
Keep display at (resolution). This option will close the display troubleshooter and return you to the setup process.

Note It's possible that your console thinks your TV is receiving a DVI connection instead of an HDMI connection. You won't have sound if your console is in DVI mode, so you won't be able
to calibrate your Kinect's microphones during setup. When you reach the Home screen for the first time, you can adjust the display settings and calibrate your Kinect.

To change the display settings on the Home screen to re-enable HDMI:

    1. Press the Xbox button
      to open the guide.
    2. Select System.
    3. Select Settings.
    4. Select Display and Sound.
    5. Select Video output.
    6. Select Advanced video settings.
    7. Select TV connection, which should be defaulted to Auto-detect, and then press the
      A button and select
      HDMI.
    For more information, see
How to adjust the display settings on your Xbox One console
    .

After you adjust the sound settings, you can set up your Kinect sensor. For more information, see

Tips for setting up your Kinect with Xbox One
    .

Note If you've done this on an Xbox One X or Xbox One S with an older TV, but you later switch to a 4K TV, make sure to switch
TV connection back to Auto-detect. 4K isn't available when it's set to
    HDMI.

If you've changed your TV resolution and your screen turns black or doesn't look correct, wait 10 seconds and the screen will return to the 480p setting. Select
    Try a different resolution.

After you select Try a different resolution, you'll return to the
Change your display screen. There, you can try the remaining resolution option.

If neither 720p nor 1080p work with your TV, select
    None of these work.

At this point, you can continue with setup using the 480p resolution, though it's not optimal, or you can select a different TV to connect to your Xbox One.
