I got a character killed yesterday and I actually feel really terrible about it, went to that farm to rescue someone and the farmer zombies are bigger and tougher than I thought lol.

 

Quick tip for those that haven't done one of the new supply drop missions in the base game - make sure your well armed!!!

They attract craploads of Zombies!

Almost lost my fully levelled 'Marcus' on the third one

 

Passed on this game on the Xbox 360 but definitely getting it for the Xbox One, minor improvements or not, I have nothing to compare it to so whatever lol.

*UPDATE* Can't buy the game because I HAVE NO SPACE ON MY HDD!!! [tag:nospace].

 

Having caved and got the game, anyone who says that it doesn't look or play that different from the 360 really need to get to specsavers pronto......

 

Posted on the other SoD thread trying to get thoughts on this game, but hadn't seen this thread until now lol. I think I'll pass on this. Thank you for the input guys.

 

The only visual improvement they've made to this title is the picture of the water on the title screen looks a bit better.

The game itself however looks exactly the same as the 360 and therefore quite out of place on the ONE.

Wouldn't say it's worth more than the discounted price.

 

I owned it on the 360 so I got the discount for the XB1, but I would have been happy paying full price for it again. The visuals are only slightly better but I'm pretty sure the draw distance is better and able to see zombies from further distances as you
would expect on the newer console. Out of place on the Xbox One? I don't think so.

The thing that sets this game apart from others is once a character is dead they are gone for good, I was doing a mission and I nearly died, it made it more tense and nervy knowing I would lose this character for good if they died.

 

I have to say I've just about had every issue that I had on the 360 except for randomly coming to a stop, things at least seem to load much faster, but had a fair few zombies just run through doors, hasn't been walls yet, but always the doors.

My car still hasn't sunk into the ground though, which used to happen a lot to me. The gameplay is still as addictive as ever though and I've actually really enjoyed playing the main story again, I forgot about some of the things that happen, I just love
the charm of this game.

 

Yes, the game is still technically shoddy, which is why people are reluctant to think its any different from the 360 version aside from the resolution, but they're very wrong

The framerate, screen tearing, and pop in is better, the draw distance is improved, they've reworked some of the textures and animations, and added a few more effects such as fog and dust swirls

There's a thread somewhere on AVforums that had a complete comparison with stills / video clips etc

 

^ yep! My Marcus got ripped into two pieces at the Farm last night. I couldn't carry on after.....

 

Unlucky, I hate those juggernauts and ferals. I know had to chicken out of a mission, so many zombies for me too deal with and no ammo left, didn't want to risk losing Marcus over a watch lol.

 

Not as unlucky as Hog! He got his much loved fully levelled Marcus munched! I've seen it, it wasn't pretty....

 

I complained about zombies glitching through walls when last night it actually helped me, haha, I took a screenshot of it, but juggernauts can't fit through the doors, but half their body will so I ended up killing it and it's body got stuck in the door
so from one side all you can see is this huge bum, hahaha.

That's why the brokenness of this game just adds to its charm, you wouldn't have some of these funny moments without the bugs, haha.
