State of Decay

Got my pre-order yesterday

Forgot how much I loved this game, although I had to just start a new since my old save the entire town became infested since its been over a year since I've played haha!

First time playing any of the DLC as well.

The game still is a bit buggy, so far nothing game breaking though. The graphics aren't bad but they aren't a whole lot better than the original just much better resolution.

But you got to keep in mind it's just an arcade title not a AAA game.

For the full game all DLC, and updates for just $30 its a good deal

State of Decay 2 is just the game.

State of Decay 2: Ultimate Edition includes the game and:

Genchy, I actually don't champion that many games - I only advertise them so people know about them. If anything, I just don't want people bashing a game because of its graphics simply because it looks retro or 8-bit. The irony is a lot of those don't have
poor animations. When it comes to graphics though, even simple things like clipping will irritate the heck out of me.

All of you mention that there are bugs or glitches, but fail to tell me what any of them actually are (well, with the exception of the road debris example); you simply say that it doesn't break the game. How can I decide that for myself if I have no idea
what these bugs everyone speaks of are?

Forgot how much I loved this game! technically its still shoddy, although a lot better than it was on 360, and the dismembered zombie bits are surprisingly detailed : )

Not tried Lifeline or Breakdown yet, but hoping to grab a quick few hours before work tonight

 

Really enjoyed this on 360, played for an hour or so on XB1. I also kinda expected a little more polish for a re-release. Basically all the same little glitches that were on the 360. Its the same game with slightly(or barely) better graphics, and all
the DLC. No game breaking stuff, bought it for the 1 dlc I never played and the convenience of being able to play it on XB1.

Can't wait to get some real time to play. Being able to move the breakdown save is awesome.

 

Well, I was on the fence, but the last few posts have convinced me to take a pass. To warrant a purchase, this game had to have had improvements on par with Dark Souls 2: SOTFS. This sounds like it's just "okay".

 

Yeah, it has a few of the same issues, though overall performances is much better as well as the resolution, the world never looked so good.

It's generally less buggy for me so far though, haven't had any zombies stuck in walls or run through them, the texture is still a little slow to load so I can see when I venture out further I'm going to crash into an invisible object, which to be honest
was the more annoying issue for me. It's easily avoidable when you know where things are. Oh and my car hasn't randomly sunk into the ground.

For me this was always going to get a purchase regardless of improvements, once you get back into it, it's a lot of fun.

 

Sadly, now that I've played for a while, I'd have to say wait for a sale. It is definitely worth playing, but not at the current price. Absolutely no bugs have been fixed, it's just a straight port with better resolution. Some key bugs that should have
been addressed in the 360 version, never got fixed for the xb1. I also gave my head a shake when I previously read they cleaned up the UI.... False.

I'll still play the hell out of it, having a blast, but cannot endorse at $30. Got mine on discount, so I'm content. If you were a fan of SOD, then this is great to have available on the XB1.

Also.... Didn't the game pause when looking at the map, or is my memory wrong.

 

More fun than the "on rails" experience of "The Walking Dead".

If it hadn't been for the discount I would probably have given it a miss but I'll at least get my £13.00 worth.

 

Two totally different games and each as enjoyable as each other. Walking Dead has the better story. And I have played and completed both titles.

 

TWD is 1 of the best games I've ever played. It'd be hard for SoD to beat that 1 in my mind...

 

Chalk and Cheese GG, One is very good at being Chalk and the other is very good at being Cheese.

 

State of Decay is really solid. I haven't ran into any bugs or glitches.
