State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition - Hangs at Start screen.

I purchased the retail disc copy of State of Decay: Year One Survival Edition yesterday, but had problems starting it.

The game installed fine. It launched from the Xbox One dashboard fine. It went through the splash screens fine. But then it gets to the start screen where it says to either hit the "View" button to change user, or to hit the "Menu" button to start. No
matter what I do, I cannot advance past this screen. The application has clearly not frozen, however, as the background graphics are still in motion.

What I have tried:

1) Used a different Xbox One controller, to verify it wasn't an issue with the first controller I tried. (I also booted up Halo 5 to verify the "Menu" button worked, and it did.)

2) Uninstalled the game and reinstalled the game. Did this on two separate occasions.

3) Did a hard reboot of the Xbox One. Did this on two separate occasions.

4) Uninstalled the "DLC" for the game. This included the Breakdown and Lifeline expansions that come on the disc. I also had DLC for the Gurubani Kaur character, as I owned State of Decay digitally on the Xbox 360. After I uninstalled all of this
DLC, I was actually able to get the game to advance past the start screen, perhaps because my Xbox One prompted me to download the Gurubani Kaur DLC. However, when I got past the start screen and clicked on the "Install Now" option for the Breakdown
and Lifeline DLCs, they would not install. Additionally, when I backed out of the game and tried to start it again, it would not start. When I repeated the process of uninstalling the DLC, I sometimes was able to advance past the start screen, and other
times not.

As you can see, this is a perplexing bug I have encountered, and I've tried everything I can think of to fix the problem. I also have searched online, but have found no mention of this exact same problem anywhere. Anyone have suggestions?

I bought State of decay2 ultimate edition , but not received State of decay Year one survival edition code .
