State of Decay 2 PC control issues

Recently started playing SOD2 using keyboard and mouse. Having major game breaking issues.

1. Even though game looks full screen if my mouse strays too far to the top of my screen it activates the task bar for the game screen window. This defocuses your control of the game and leave your character stood like a lemon while you try to click back into
the screen to refocus and take control. In a game with perma death for characters this is ABSOLUTELY LUDICROUS.

2. The controls periodically glitch out and you can't walk in certain directions. It's happened numerous times but the last was so bad I had to change characters to break out of it. This has yet to occur during a combat moment but if it did then again. I would
lose that survivor to perma death due to the inability to control it.

I've only played a handful of hours and both these issues have occurred consistently. I've just logged out of the game and am wondering if it is even playable at all. For a Microsoft studios release which is now over a year old this is astoundingly poor quality.

Please advise if there are any fixes or workarounds for this.

I found a work around for this.

1. I made a shortcut on the desktop for "C:\WINDOWS\explorer.exe" so i can restart the explorer once i finish playing.

* make sure task manager has "always on top" selected under the options tab

2. Start state of decay 2 in full screen once game has loaded. bring up task manager and end task for "windows Explorer".

3. Play the game

4. ctrl-alt-del to bring up task manager select "file" then run new task browse to desktop select explorer.exe shortcut

Your first issue when if it does that try hitting alt and enter this will switch it from windowed full screen to full screen.

The second issue even with using a controller which is how I play SOD2 this happens sometimes and I know there is something in one of the in game menus that allows you to reset back like 10-15 seconds basically it just rewinds the game by that amount of
time I have had what you are describing happen a few times and had to do this reset and it has gotten me out of this glitch.

Hi Steelewand,

Tried the Alt-Enter. Doesn't work. It just shifts between windowed and windowed full screen and as soon as mouse pointer goes near top, bottom or right it pops a bar up or defocuses as you go into extended desktop.

I'll check on the rewind option but do you mean the radio command for stuck?

There is no Full Screen option. Only Full Screen Windowed and Windowed. That's it.

It's not an input delay. The character gets locked into a movement and cannot break out of it. I'll try get a video of it and send it to you. I'm pretty certain it's in relation to the windowed issue.
