State of Decay 2 Black Screen at Base Screen

Been playing State of Decay 2, xbox one version, for the past couple days. All of the sudden when I go to the Base Screen after a split second it goes black. LB and RB will take you out of it but when you go back you get the black screen again.

I have tried deleting and reinstalling the game. Tried the hard power cycle on the xbox one. Tried combining the two. But still the problem persists and it happens for all players, new and saved games.

Any idea what to try now?

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. We need a little more information to ensure that we provide the correct solution. Do LB and RB move you to a different menu when you play the game? Does it appear to be just this one section of the game
that is having the issue? Does this issue occur with any other games? The troubleshooting steps that the ambassadors recommended are great options. You can also try uninstalling the game, clearing your local saved games and installing the game again. This
will help clear out any corrupt saved data on the console that may be affecting the performance of the game. You will still retain your saved data over the Xbox cloud as long as you were connected to Xbox Live when you last played it. We will provide steps
on how to clear your local saved games. Be sure to let us know the results!

How to clear local saved games:

Press the Xbox button on the controller to pull up the guide

Go to Settings

Select System

Select Storage

Select Clear local saved games

When I press the LB and RB they do take me to another menu. It doesn't happen in other games and only happens on the one screen. The game was working fine.

I can even hit the A button after it goes black and move the left stick up and down. This will open a menu up on the Base Screen and the Screen come back. I can view the screen at this point but as soon as I back out of the menu it goes black again.

Tried deleting local saves. Tried deleting game. Reinstalled. Still having the same issue.

Sorry you are having issues with the game, do you have it installed on an external hard drive? If so try reinstalling it on the internal hard drive to see if it fixes your issue.

Check for new updates or clean the cache. Another option is delete local save and re-syncronize

Thank you for posting on the Xbox forums. It is possible to erase all the saved data for the game from the Xbox cloud and remove the game from the console. We have

an article on our website regarding the Xbox cloud. There is a portion of the article that explains how to delete saves that you don't want.

The console gives you an option to remove the saved data from the console or everywhere. Removing the saved data from everywhere will erase the saved data from the cloud and the console. This will have you start the game all over again. After
you complete this process, you can uninstall and reinstall the game for a clean installation. We hope this helps!

Thanks for the update. If these steps have not resolved the issue you are experiencing, you may want to try a Factory Reset. To do so, check out this article:

Reset Xbox One Console to Factory Defaults.

If you'd like to reduce time by keeping your games and apps installed be sure to select the option to "Reset and keep my games & apps"

Didnt work. I tried the Factory reset where I keep my games and apps. I did uninstall SoD2 first.

Isnt there a way to delete all trace of this game from the hard drive and any thing saved to the cloud? Because uninstall is obviously not deleting everything. It has to be retaining some information. Or something is being synced from the cloud.

There should be a way of scrubbing a single game from the local hard drive and the cloud (including achievements) without doing a full factory reset. And a factory reset doesn't do any good if something is being synced upon start up.
