    starting xbox one s for first time, controller will not turn on.


    At first I thought it must be the batteries, so I changed them (several times), but no matter what, the controller button refuses to flash when I follow the prompts on screen. Am I doing something wrong or is the controller just broken?

    My Xbox One S won´t turn on with my controller

    Greetings,

    I have a really weird situation. I came back home after spending Christmas with relatives. I took my controller with me, and I used on another Xbox One S console with no issues. My surprise when I got back home I plug in back my console and used my controller,
    it didn´t turn on first time I try to turn it on with my controller. After turning on xbox one s by pressing the button, I sync back my controller. That day I played several times and I was able to turn on the console with the controller several times on that
    day, BUT if the console is not turn on for a while (like more than 20 hours), then the controller won't able to turn on the console, the "X" on the controller will just keep flashing. It is annoying, I have to go press the power button on the console itself,
    then I am able to shut down and turn it on again. Till tomorrow night when after a while I cannot use the controller again...

    I did unplug the console for 30 seconds and plug again... And my console is Instant Mode. I have to say this never happen to me before holidays and it is driving me crazy. I loved my Xbox One S.

    Please help me.

    XBOX ONE S turns off when starting a game.

    About two months ago my XBOX started occaisonally turning off when I was starting a game: first, the screen of my TV turns black and pressing any button on my controller will not caus any reaction. After about 30 to 60 seconds
    the console turns off, but the controller stays turned ON. The console will then not turn on by using the controller and after turning the cosole on with the button at the xbox itself, I will have to connect to the controller again manually. this problem only
    occurs when starting games, not apps. Also it occurs more often: about two months ago when it first happened it was like 2 times in a week. Recently it happened every 2nd day an this morning it happened three times in a row. I'm getting worried because I fear
    turning the console on and off again and again could cause damage to it.

    Controller keeps disconnecting

    Some times both consoles are turned on at the same time but it happens when only one is on as well

    Yes both share same network

    All 4 controllers are normal xbox one controllers

    They disconnect when playing online and offline games

    No pc games

    First started happening maybe In September

    Also I have a Xbox series X In a Third room that has no issues

    Hey, mate. Watch the video 3 times and the first time it was enough to say that this is not normal. I don't have an elite 2(yet) but my first Xbox One controller and my Xbox One S controller works great without me having to press the button hard.

    I suggest taking advantage of your warranty and ordering another controller.

    Hi, there is a setting in the xbox one to turn on and off controller vibrations but I'm not ruling out Destiny because Destiny also has controller vibration settings.

    I'd start with Destiny settings first.

    Warning ! Do not brick your controller . New controller update procedure stay away like the plague.

    If you have the Xbox one USB to Micro USB you can fix your controller. First turn on your console. Then take the batteries out of your controller(s). Then plug in your controller to your console with the USB cable. Wait about 5 minutes and your controller

    good news, turns out nothing's wrong with the way how i turned on my xbox 360 s on with the controller in the first place, today it just took 2 seconds to turn on so i was just being paranoid over nothing this whole time so i guess that means it all ok
