Starting with Sea of Thieves

We bought Sea of Thieves in april for Xbox on PC, and when we start the game, we get the message "Change your settings to play. You can’t play multiplayer game because of how your account is set up. Go to your privacy and online safety settings on xbox.com
to change this". We already have the online safety settings to "join multiplayer game = allowed" and it's working with other games. We also verified with Microsoft, and they gave us the contact of RARE to verify if we have restricted access to their servers.But
they never answered... We also get the message "Sorry you are not currently allowed to join any sessions. Please check your account settings and try again (Avocadobeard)." But we don't need an xboxlive gold membership as we play from the Xbox application on
PC.

As Geth mentioned we would recommend checking your Enforcement history to be sure the account is clear.

If the account is clear, be sure that the account is an adult account by signing into your
family page and that you have active Gold on your
accounts subscription page.

If you have Gold but your account is a child account you will need the parent listed on the family to give your

account access to online games.

We hope this helps explain why your account can not play online.

Sometimes that pops up with the account has an enforcement actions on there profile.
