Starting to get feed up with the XB1 UI

Only issues I occasionally have occur when I go through a dozen apps rapidly, which is just the console trying to keep up with me.

 

@Mogwai. My internet is crap mate, 5mbs......best I can get where I am.

But this shouldn't be affecting the console like this surely?

 

I don't notice it being especially slow when joining parties etc. does make me chuckle when the 360 is compared though. I mean now I walk into my living room and say "Xbox on". By the time I sit down and pick up the controller I am able to start playing
my game straight away. At the moment it's Watchdogs and i can pick up where I left off instantly. Compare that with turning on the 360 and waiting for the old spinney circle to actually load the dashboard, and then when it eventually loads having to launch
the game and go through loading screens before you can even begin to game. That for is the biggest improvement, and where the One scores over last gen 360 every time.

 

To answer some more questions that have been raised:

My Xbox One is much faster than my Xbox 360 - the former usually works within 1-3 seconds and the latter can't even compare.

I live in the U.S. - Florida to be specific (which is about as far as you can get from MS' Corporate offices).

My connection speed is a mere 6mbps down and 1mbps up.

I do not use power-saver mode on my console.

I have had the 20-second freeze from pressing the guide button that was mentioned, but it's rare.

 

The UI is slow no doubt about it. I am hop on my 360 and Xb1 multiple times a day, and accessing friends, messages, achievements, as well as recent players is quicker on the 360 at the moment.

 

I feel the exact opposite when I jump on my 360, feels clunky and slow compared to my One.

 

@smileskybird - it's obviously not the software. Yes I know the X360 is quick regardless of where people are, but it could well be the approach is different (or it relies on different servers). The fact that there are lots of people here that say their
UI is fast is enough to suggest the problem is environmental - possibly (and most likely?) a network issue - and not a software issue (since we all have the same software).

I don't think network bandwidth (i.e. download speed) is the issue (mine is around 10mb down - and the UI is slow for me, whereas some have suggested they only have 6mb down and their UI is fast).

I am convinced it's the ping speed to the servers that is responsible for the UI responses - and I'm still of the opinion that when we do a network test and we get a really high ping (like most UK users at ~200ms) then that is the cause. It doesn't affect
gaming as I guess they use different servers but it does appear to affect the UI experience.

That's why I brought up (and keep bringing up) the topic of network speeds whenever we discuss the UI speed.

Of course if UK users indicated that their UI is very fast when checking messages/activity etc. then that would blow my theory out of the water. Which is why I asked for people to state where they are when indicating their UI speed experience.
