    Starting a new game


    I want to start a new game because the data in the old one was corrupted. the challenges weren't registering. Whenever I try and start a new game I would have the two treasure maps that I had in the corrupted file that I even deleted. I even had the collectables
    that I had by doing Kennway's fleet in the old file. How do I start from scratch? Do I need to do something in my Uplay account?

    The Kill-count resets every time the story is restarted, but your PP total - Skill Level is carried through every game on your profile.

    It's been a while since I played but I completed the whole campaign and I was wondering if I start a new game will my kill count reset along with my skill level or does it transfer over to the new game?

    Have you tried to delete your savegame file? I know the old file should not transfer anything to a new game but glitches aren't uncommon

    I think it will depend on the updates you are talking about. Updates that involve a change in the terrain or resources therein will likely require a new world. I believe the developers have stated so in an interview. However, other updates like the ability
    to stack fences, new crafting recipes with current resources, etc., that do not involve changes in the terrain and the resources therein will probably not require a new world be started. That said, I don't think we know that for certain.

    A new game does not start

    Sorry to hear it. There are two things you can try here.

    1. Highlight the game and press the Start button on the controller then choose Quit and try again

    2. Hold the power button on the console for 10 seconds until it shuts down

    One of those should solve the issue.
