Start using the new Xbox forums

The time has come for the forums to move, as we
mentioned back in June. Very soon, we’ll be redirecting all of the forum threads to open only in their new home in the Microsoft Community forums instead of on forums.xbox.com.

Try the new forums and let us know what you think

But before we do that, you can get an early start by using the Xbox area of the Microsoft Community forums. Right now, you can view all of your threads via forums.xbox.com or the Community forums without missing a beat.

1. Head over to Results in Xbox - Microsoft Community and start using them today.
2. Once you've tired them out, let us know what you think in
   this survey.

Once we’ve had the chance to finish all the features and fully test the Xbox area of the Community forums, we’ll be turning off forums.xbox.com and starting our new chapter as part of the Microsoft Community forums.

We hope you join us in this move and enjoy the new home for Xbox conversations.

Using the Xbox Forums!

Welcome to the Xbox Forums! Whether you need assistance with a support related issue or want to have a discussion with others about anything Xbox related, we've got you covered! In addition to support.xbox.com,
the forums are full of helpful support content as well as exciting discussions. Help comes in all shapes in sizes, including fellow community members, epic Xbox Ambassadors, or official Xbox Support Forum Agents. Take a look around and you may be able to find
the answer you seek or a discussion that sparks your interest.

For transparency, we have six (6) official Xbox Forums Staff here to help you. You can identify us by the "Official Staff" badge underneath our Gamerpics. Those awesome agents are:

In addition to our Welcome Post, which will introduce you to the forums community, we've created this post to guide you when using the Xbox.com Forums.

If you need assistance with a support related issue, check out the following steps:

• The first place we recommend checking is the
  Xbox Live Service Status page.
  With most cases by the time you have noticed an issue at home, out Xbox Live engineers are already working on a resolution in order to minimize the impact on your experience. When this is the case, those issues will be listed on the
  Xbox Live Service Status page. If you don't see anything posted there relating to the issue you are experiencing, go ahead and hit the Xbox Forums.
• Look for the forum relevant to your issue. For Xbox related issues, we have several forums that cover a wide range of topics; so no matter your question, you can find the answer here! To get the best assistance possible, be sure you're
  posting in the correct forum. For example, if you are having troubles with a promotion, navigate to the General Sales & Promotions forum via the Xbox Forums navigation bar. Additionally, you can search for the forum/issue by using the "Search Xbox Forums"
  Search Bar, which is accessible from any page of the forums.
  
• CHECK THE STICKIES! Our forums contain many beautiful posts called "stickies". These are posts that contain extra-helpful verified information, and will always be stuck on the front page of their parent forum, hence the name, stickies.
  
• Browse the forums for posts by other users with the same issue. This is pretty straightforward. Just check the forums for relevant thread titles, or search the forums by the error code or message you're encountering. Similar threads may
  contain the steps needed to resolve your issue.
  
• Create a new thread! Alrighty, so you have checked the Xbox Live Service Status page, browsed the stickies, and no other posts out there offer adequate help. Now what? Create a post! When making a post, make sure you include as much information
  about your issue as possible, including any error codes or messages you are encountering, as well as any troubleshooting steps you have already tried. Remember, something you don't include may be that key piece of info we ask for later, so try and get everything
  in your first post. To create a post, just click on "Create a new post" from any page in the forums. To ensure that your thread is posted in the correct area, make sure to appropriately select the correct post type. If you have a support related question,
  select "Support".
  

If you would like to start an Xbox related discussion, be sure to select "Discussion" for the post type when creating your thread.



Additionally, here are a few things to keep in mind when using the forums:

• Please allow 24 hours for a response to your thread. While you will often receive a response to your issue sooner than that, we do ask that you give 24 hours for responses to be posted before you "bump" your thread. Threads are often worked
  from oldest to newest, so if you bump your thread within that 24 hour window, you will put your post as the back of the line.
• How to navigate the Forums. It this is your first time visiting the Xbox Forums, we definitely suggest checking out the How to: Navigating
  the Forums guide for some helpful tips.
• Messages: How to use them, and when. To message another user within the forums, just
  
  click on the small envelope icon, which is located below the post of the person you would like to message. This will send the receiving user an
  Xbox Live message. Note: Please do not message Support Agents, as we do not offer support through
  
  Xbox Live messages. The only exception would be if a Support Agent requests additional information regarding your post.
