Nothing wrong with reading through a lengthy post, as long as the info contained therein works, which this looks like it will.

Also... the size of Insancipitory's post is rather small compared to others I've read (and even a couple I've posted here myself) here...

It's not just about length, though. Some people, like myself, never really utilized the in-game stock market or cared enough to engage in it. A slower explanation would have been better than just chucking it out there with the assumption that everyone knows
what you are talking about. That is one of the rules they teach you in any speech class: "know your audience".

  3. TL; DR

A person only seems to need around $230 million to buy everything available. There are people out there manipulating the BAWSAQ exchange for their own purposes, which creates the opportunity for anyone to piggyback on their efforts and earn billions in
about a week, roughly doubling money for each character daily. Returns much larger than that are possible. This method does not rely on the Lester Assassination missions, and can be done immediately following the prologue, requiring only a hijacking a cab
if that is what one wishes. It generally produces a geometric progression in cashflow. Only a small amount of seed money, like $10,000, is necessary to get it started. There are some quirks of the developers choice of using signed 32 bit integers that require
special effort. The game goes out of its way to mitigate what would be the most difficult of these, so they are easily avoided if understood.

That's the densest complete version I could get. It covers the pitfalls such as accounting for rounding errors that will otherwise prevent large transactions, overflows which will wipe out billions, it explains how to use multiple save games to game the
constraints of the in game BAWSAQ market, and make use of the manipulations others are forcing upon that market. Anything more detailed isn't going to fit into a post in these forums. I don't know why this information isn't out there. GTA V stock market
gaming seems to focus on the Lester Assassination Missions, which didn't strike me as particularly desirable.

That information would have saved me some time, so I know others will find it useful. Others might have specific questions in relation to that information and the BAWSAQ, I will answer those as best I can. Some might find it a waste of time.

Start over or just replay missions?

OK. That was better but I'm still confused in some areas:

    1) Are you talking about the Lester Assassination missions to manipulate the in-game stock market?

    2) Are you talking about the actual coding behind the stock market and how you earn money in-game?

    3) Are you saying the in-game stock market is more dynamic than people say it is?

    4) Are you referring to Online or just SP?

  5. 1) The Lester Assassination Missions are totally unnecessary. This can be done in conjunction with, or totally without those. I just completed the Redwood Jury Assassination, Franklin now has 77 billion in Ammunation stock and it took an hour and a half
to swap the stocks, so I probably won't be bothering with that anymore.

    2) Some of the choices the developers made programming wise introduce certain constraints on the system. I think they made very good choices overall. When one sells all of a specific stock (not from the whole portfolio) it will only sell so many shares
of a stock that will return the largest amount of cash possible ($2.147 billion). In this way you can safely store tremendous amounts of money in stocks like Ammunation and PumpNDump.

    3) the LCN exchange seems to be composed of stocks that bound to a normal trading range then periodically they move a small random amount within that range. This makes them less desirable when it comes to generating income outside of the Lester Assassination
Missions. The BAWSAQ responds to influence from the community. I do not know what the levers are that move the market. I suspect it's people with large amounts of money buying and selling stock, or causing overflows in the stock shares, then reloading saves
and doing this repeatedly to control stock prices. All I know is that people pick stock prices to drive down and up sharply. In general I believe the market tries to bend the stocks back to their normal trading range with a little bit of added noise like
the LCN, but the player actions can overwhelm this. When these other players get the prices where they like, the then load saves to take advantage of the manipulation. Notice this won't work with the LCN exchange because the state of the market sticks with
    the save.

    4) Presumably, Rockstar is aware of the players pushing the market in single player. I suspect that's why the stock market isn't implemented online.

plus having a tons of cash in story mode is nearly pointless, I finally did most of all that, got enough money to buy everything there is. but then what? I just get bugged more often to do management missions.

They really need an update for story mode........... or maybe a 3:1 ration for wealth transfer to online.

  7. Somehow someone(s) really depressed the Wiz stock on the BAWSAQ, as of right now it's sitting at around $0.12, I believe that's normally in the $5 a share range. So, buy it now, sell when it peaks that's 40x one's investment.
