Starfield - Game Allowing no access

On the Xbox One X only the account holder would get access to cloud gaming which you would use to play Starfield.

If you buy it, you won't need Game Pass to play it. You'll be able to use the same game save.

According to the article from IGN:

"Constellation Edition (the one that comes with the in-game watch in real life) all include “up to five days early access”.

Starfield’s street date is September 6, but with this early access period, its effective release date is September 1.

Here’s the small print, from Bethesda:

“Actual playtime depends on the purchase date and is subject to possible outages and applicable time zone differences.”

Given Starfield is a single-play story-driven game, it’s hard to see outages preventing any of the five-day early access periods from being available."

Hey Brit-Fist, I was having the same issue on my Mac mini using safari browser. when I switched to Microsoft edge browser I was able to start playing Starfield through cloud gaming with ultimate pass. Sometime I wonder if they don't allow Mac apps to access certain features on purpose lol... Anyways, hope that helps!

save files are not accessible, they're already being backed up to the cloud for you

Actually they are accessible. The Game Pass version of Starfield stores its save files here:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Packages\BethesdaSoftworks.ProjectGold_3275kfvn8vcwc\SystemAppData\wgs\<user-id>

This is a different location to the Steam version. Reason being that the Xbox App version saves a copy to the Microsoft Cloud.

Most Xbox App saves are user accessible. I deleted the saves for Forza 7. Started the game and cancelled the cloud download sync. This allowed me to start again fresh.
