Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic glitch on XBox One. Temple summit on Unknown Planet

I have played through this game 2 times since downloading it. First as mostly light, and the second as almost entirely dark. Both times, I have gotten to the temple summit on the unknown planet immediately prior to accessing the Star Forge. Both times,
the game has glitched. Bastilla approaches and converses with me. Then skips to the conversation options that should happen post-combat. But she refuses to attack me. She does not board her ship and leave the planet. My character is unable to access the
computer to disable the interference field surrounding the planet that causes ships to crash. So, both run-throughs have effectively ended on the unknown planet.

I realize that this is an old game. It just is a colossal waste of my time, if I am unable to complete the game.

After the first run through that failed, I deleted all save game data and started over. I have a save point outside the temple and one when you first enter the temple summit. I have played through the temple from the save point outside several times.
Same glitch at the same point.

Does anyone have any advice?

From all that I can find, it's not common, but
has happened for other people enough to write about. I searched that page for "Unknown world" and got multiple entries about it. Sadly none have a solution, but possible ways to avoid, as it's similar to another bug? Wish I had a better answer.
