  1. Star Wars Battlefront won't start on 360

Kids had a friend with Star Wars Battlefront and liked the game. When we saw it was compatible with Xbox 360 we got a copy. However, when we try to start the game we get an error "The game could not start. Try downloading the game again." The game is
not downloaded, it is on CDDVD, but is listed as an Xbox game that does work on 360. We have tried the re-updating the system, but things still don't work. I think there is some greater issue as we also have another game in our stash that is an Xbox game
and it comes up with the same error.

Star Wars Battlefront CD/DVD (listed as XB360 compatible)

    Xbox 360 console

Xbox 360 HD: 3.2 Gb free

    HD: 283 Gb free

error: "The game could not start. Try downloading the game again."

    :)

If it's the original Xbox version of the game that is backwards compatible with the 360, then it requires an official MS brand hard drive in order to work. The HD you have listed as having 3.2gb free is most likely the internal flash memory and not a hard
drive. If the other hard drive is not an actual MS brand Xbox hard drive, the game won't work.

  5. OK. We finally got a MS hard drive off of ebay and after transferring an xbox live profile to the new disk it got some download and things work. YEAH! Thanks.

Is there some bit of code that can be put on our old drive to have it be read as an official MS brand hard drive? All game progress and several "non-xbox live" linked profiles are on that drive. I downloaded Xplorer360, but even that does not seem to show
much. The MS HD showed partition 2 info in a folder but nothing in 3. The drive that came with the console showed only the partitions but would not expand to show anthing else-so I don't see any way of transferring the old drive profiles and progress to
the new drive other than get an xbox live account for every profile and I do not want to do that (and receive more than the one daily email from xbox live that I already do). Is there a way to transfer whatever is different from our recently acquired MS drive
and the old drive that came with the console so that it can get the update that allows Battlefront to be played. Thanks for you help. At worst we can swap drives to play this one game, but if there were a work around that would be nice.

    Thanks

No. There is no legit way of making a non-MS hard drive compatible. Doing so can put you at risk for being banned.

As far as transferring the profiles, if the hard drive can be plugged in via USB, you could plug it into the console and just use it at the same time. Or you could plug it in and copy/move the data to a flash drive and then move it to the new hard drive. Move Xbox Content | Copy or Move Xbox Content | Xbox 360 Storage

  7. How do you go about the USB option? Plugged into a PC the drives come up as "unallocated" in hard drive manager and other drive management software. Using the Xplorer360 software, one comes up with partitions 1, 2, & 3. On the official MS drive there
is some content in these partitions, but for the non-MS drive these partitions will not expand to show further content, however, this is where my kid's profiles and progress are located for everything but Star Wars Battlefront.

Thank you, by the way, for helping us finally getting Battlefront running. Even thought the kids have to swap drives for Battlefront/everything else, it is better than the game's complete unusability before.
