Star Wars Battlefront won't play

I've been told by support chat that this game is no longer compatible can anyone out there tell me if that's true?

My Xbox one Star wars Battlefront 2 Beta Code did not work.

As far as I know it should still work. It's on the list of compatible games (support.xbox.com/.../play-original-games).

 

It should be playable as long as you have an official Microsoft hard drive. Unfortunately though, you would only be able to play single player seeing how the servers for all xbox original games were shut down in 2010.

 

That's what I thought but there's no way of checking. I believe I have an official hard drive I've updated and done everything else they suggested I just get the message "This original Xbox game has not been c..." and I've no idea what the rest of the message
is supposed to read. I'm reluctant to buy another hard drive in case I have the same problem my hard drive has 13.8gb space which is consistant with an official one. Has anyone got the game and does it still work?

 

Just to make sure, you are connected to Live when you try to play right? I found a user with a similar issue that couldn't connect to Live to download the update to play it.

 

I haven't tried that as I've no internet connection near my xbox or tv and won't play online so I'm reluctant to buy a wifi adapter. I have updated the console offline but that's all I'm currently able to do

 

Unfortunately you have to be connected to Live the first time you start an Original Xbox game because it has to download software specific to the title to be able to play. There is no way to do it offline. You can do it with a wired connection but it will
require moving your console to get close to your modem or router

 

Thanks I'll try that. It's a second hand ebay console so probably banned from live I'll keep you informed

 

If it is, and you have access to another console, you can try getting the update on a friend's console and moving or copying it to a USB to move to your console. I've never tried that though, so I have no idea if it will work.
