Star Wars Battlefront to release "offline" mode July 20th

It's not a campaign, but it's still better than online only. If it goes on sale I may pick it up. Does this make it seem more appealing to others that didn't pick it up due to online only?

The offline mode is called Skirmish and will be available from July 20. According to lead designer Dennis Brannvall it "offers players the option to play offline against bots in a solo mission or with a friend using co-op split screen (console only.)"

There will be two difficulty options for the offline mode, which is available for Walker **** and Fighter Squadron.

"With multiple locations that span the galaxy, from the frozen planet of Hoth to the lava encrusted planet of Sullust, we hope Skirmish brings players a new way to enjoy Star Wars Battlefront," Brannvall added.

This is great news to me thanks for the info.

 

It looks to me like they missed the mark yet again. Out of the modes listed, offline solo would only be fun for practice maybe... for a few games at most before it got old. Co-op only works for split screen? LOL Seems to me the one mode that would be really
appealing (at least to me) would be online co op against bots? Which seems to be the mode they didn't bother with, unless I read wrong. No thanks... too little, too late.

 

It does sort of seem too little too late.

 

It kinda of got that already though doesn't it? I've played loads of maps against bots, sort of horde mode forget what they call it, I've played more of that than the MP. Confused.com!

 

Yeah,kind off Gench.I think this is the chance to play against bots on all maps the you have.

This is also Walker Assault & Fighter Squadron against bots which you couldn't do before.

I still have a dabble on this every now & then but won't buy any of the dlc unless it goes on sale.

A game without a campaign/story is a complete waste. Bots are nice for those who wish to shoot things while exploring maps, but otherwise adds ziltch, and is thus a dead expense.

I personally wouldn't sink a single buck into such games as this and/or Destiny.

 

But you will play Borderlands to death, not exactly a Shakespearean work of art when it comes to story not that different from Destiny in a whole heap of ways

 

I had a hunch it wouldn't be long before you began stalking me again. You really should STOP doing that!

I play Borderlands, and DLC to get all 4 charactures lvl'd up, as well as farming for Pearls, and the ever elusive Savage Equalizer with 555 times 7 damage.

Unlike Destiny and SWBF, Borderlands has local play, and local play is, imo. The best way to play on consoles.

little difference between Destiny and Borderlands both have a weak story and the main focus is loot farming...

 

^ And Destiny would have been right up my alley... If not for ONLINE ONLY. Which I have said in many threads since playing destiny's beta way back when.

"Star Wars"gives us great game play and graphics that effectively capture the most epic battles in the history of film.

Even in a single player vs bots setting "Borderlands" doesn't hold a candle up to it.

"Destiny" is the best shooter this Gen and arguably the best game on the ONE for all the game play that players got out of it.

It's a shame you're stuck in your "Last Gen" Shell.

You're missing out on some brilliant games because of your fear of the unknown.

You're loss that you're missing out.

Our loss that you'll still keep posting crap about games you don't play.
