Star Wars Battlefront rumours

Anyone remember the cancelled Battlefront 3 game Radical was working on? I keep thinking of that gameplay footage of you taking off in an x wing on a planet and then flying into space, I'm kind of hoping Dice does something similar. Still a bit sad that
game never was released.

No single player campaign means that I have no interest in the game.

I confess to being rubbish at shooters and being the fodder to boost another players online stats isn't what I would consider fun.

Yet there are shooters which I've enjoyed because of the single player campaign.

It's already been confirmed by the developers that the entire game will be planetary-based, as in not in space. Sorry, buddy...

 

^ That massively sucks. I remember even in Battlefront 2 there were space battles and landing your x wing inside a star destroyer then shooting storm troopers on foot, disappointing we won't have anything like that in BF3.

 

Well, they might do the interior of a Star Destroyer or the Death Star; after all, they're practically massive environments in their own right - that might be pretty cool.

Also, I haven't really mentioned it yet, but this trailer blew me out of the water. I LOVE Star Wars, I LOVE shooters, and I've been wanting devs to make a multiplayer-only shooter from a popular franchise (namely Battlefield, Call of Duty, Halo, and Gears
of War) for what seems like forever that's just its own thing or off-shoot. This game takes ALL of that into account, so I honestly couldn't be happier! Granted, the footage is not actual gameplay (just in-engine), but it still looks so freaking amazing! It's
like I'll be able to actually live the battles from the films more realistically than ever!

My only concern is how they're going to handle the heroic characters this time around, ala Vader and Fett (speaking of which, I'm so going to be using jetpacks ad nauseum).

That would actually be really cool (no pun intended) to see! I can imagine the kill-cam or after-death cam showing the new statue rise out of the chamber with my character's outline within it.

What exactly is it that they use carbonite freezing chambers for anyways? Hmmm...
