Star Wars Battlefront 2 Xbox X shutting down

Did plugging into the wall help at all?

Have you tried using some canned air to blow it out yet? You'd be surprised at how much dust can accumulate in an Xbox One X after a short period of time.

Just downloaded the game a few days ago. The game freezes on the Pellio Mission 4 with Luke Skywalker. When I first started the mission, the game froze and actually caused my XBox One X to Completely Shut Down. It also disconnected my controller and
I had to press the main power button on the console. I deleted all saved files and even reinstalled the game. Then I chose the mission and the level started with the character falling endlessly.

I deleted my saves on both cloud and console. I started playing from mission 1 all the way to where the crash began and the level started fine. However, just before Luke goes into the first cave, the game froze again, the screen turned black with distorted
noise, and my entire console shut down again.

I have never had this problem with any other game nor I did not get an overheating message or error code. Any info would be appreciated.

i recommend trying these steps and see if anything turns out

1. Power Cycle - Instructions here. Press and hold the Xbox Logo on your console for about 8-10 seconds until the console shuts off.
   
2. Check the Xbox Live Service Status here!
   
3. Consult Xbox.com/support - They have a wide variety of topics, and tons of support available.
   
4. Contact Xbox Support - They have chats, phone calls, emails, everything.
   
5. Consult xbox reddit wiki - It's highly likely that your issue is there.
   
6. Try a factory reset
   
7. Make sure the xbox is getting enough ventilation

I recommend trying is setting the output on your Xbox One to 1080p.

To change your output resolution, follow these steps:

• Navigate to All settings from the Xbox One Guide.
  
• Scroll to Display & sound from the settings menu and select Video output.
  
• From here, change the TV resolution to 1080p.

are you wired to the wall or extension? if extension it may be that your xbox is not getting enough power.

I have it plugged into a surge protector that the TV and Nintendo Switch are also plugged into. I'll try to plug directly into the wall to see if it happens again. It seems to shut down when there is a lot happening on the screen. So could the power
supply in the system be the problem in this case? I had the same problem with WOW years ago with my PC. To much happening during a raid and I would get blue screen. Changed the power supply to something with more output, never had the problem again.

Hey there, so it actually gives you a message on the screen saying that the Xbox is going to shut down to prevent overheating? First thing I would do is take a picture of that, either on the system if it allows you to or on your phone just so you have a
record of what’s going on. It’s a little odd that out of all the games it would be that one since it’s not brand new.

since what you described is the console being in an open environment, it’s also a little odd that it’s dealing with overheat issues. It might be a good idea to contact the actual Xbox tech-support to see if this is something that needs a repair ticket. How
long have you had your Xbox one X for?
