Star Trek Discovery via Netflix running 1/4 screen size

So this is a strange one, as the title says ST Discovery will only run 1/4 of the screen size. I've not encountered any other show that does this and it's only affecting the xbox one x, it runs fine on the ps4 pro and apple products. Is this a problem
introduced after the last OS update ? as it ran season one and a few episodes od season 2 just fine.

Looking into this further, it does seem that because this has to do with a setting within the video output options on the Xbox One console, the television might be the cause here in reference to specifically using Dolby Vision.

Our suggestion here, attempt to reach out to Dolby, in particular their
support website and
forums, to discuss further the issue of compatibility and if software needs to be updated.

Try this for us and let us know what the results are.

Out of curiosity is it just ST Discovery that does this and are displayed in HDR or another video format

Just checked a few episodes & it's running fine for me.All in 16:9,there are top/bottom black borders but they've always been there I think.

Only bit that was a quarter of the size was the start of last weeks episode as it was a recap of the original series pilot episode "The Cage" but that would be as it was recorded in 4:3 aspect ratio.

Not much help I know but I've never come across this before.

So I uninstalled Netflix did a full powercycle ( unplugged the power supple too ) and the reinstalled the app and nothing has changed!

I had the same issue, go to the display & sound settings, video output and untick the dolby vision option. Load Netflix check star trek has opened correctly then back to settings and re-tick the dolby vision option
