Standing X1 vertically

I'm thinking of getting an X1. I need to stand it vertically. I know it's not officially supported. Who here has experience with standing their X1 vertically?

no light issue

Do you have your console standing vertically or laying horizontally?

If it's standing vertically, when the player 1 light appears is it in the top left or top right position on your consoles ring of light?

If it's laying horizontally could you try standing it vertically and see if you continue to get this issue?

Xbox 360 slim problem....

Is your console standing up vertically? The sensor in the Xbox that tells if the console is laying down or standing up may be having problems.

When you are told not to stand the console vertically then I suggest you do what you are advised.

The current design for the One is not meant to be used vertically and in no way recommended. DO NOT DO THIS as you may cause damaged to your console or game discs.

The vertical stand is sold separately, but yes, it can be vertical.

Looking at your pictures, the vertical stand was allowing a large amount of air flow into the system as it should be. Look at how much dust and debris is in the picture and you can see the system fans were working normally with the vertical stand. The
lack of clearing the debris is what caused the system to overheat. This would have happened with or without the vertical stand.
