Standby mode not working anymore. Power button flashes when turned on.

Ever since the last update my console will not turn on from standby mode. Instead the power button will flash for a couple minutes and then shut the console down completely. Once this has happened I can then turn it on and it will startup just fine but
after I shut it off and try to turn it on when it has been in standby mode for a while it does the same thing. I have tried power cycling, unplugging for more than 30 seconds, changing plugs from surge protector to straight into the wall and nothing has
worked. Any suggestions?

Xbox disconnecting from internet when off (with instant on)

Even with instant on turned on, when you turn the xbox off it is going to go into standby mode. This includes power not going to the wireless adapter anymore. If you are wanting to install a game or any other content, you must leave the console on and not
in standby mode while it is installing.

 

Comcast Cable freezes through Xbox One

I had the same problem today. What worked for me was to touch the power button on the face of the Xbox One console and NOT RELEASE my touch until I was sure that the console was completely shut down as opposed to just going into standby mode. When I turned
the console back on, cable TV was working again.
