Standard Xbox on 4K HDR TV

Hi all,

I have a standard Xbox One and am thinking of buying a 4K HDR TV and was wondering if I would notice much of a difference in the picture? I currently have a 1080 HD TV. Is it worth buying one?

Make sure which ever tv you get it is hdr compatible you will get the best picture possable when 4k is more openly available I own two lg 4k tvs the hdr ready tv picture is a hell of a lot better the the standard 4k tv

If you have a 4K TV you'll still be able to take advantage of the higher resolution provided by the Xbox One. HDR is a boost to your TV display's contrast ratio. So basically if your TV is HDR you'll see a big picture quality difference than you would with
just a standard 4K TV.

 

Hi Gilbot81 yes it’s amazing, I used fallout 4 to played on regular tv before I buy 4K HDR TV and when I brought the Samsung 4K HDR TV It’s was way different with the graphic and stunning game played on Fallout 4 on your Xbox One. It’s worth it and you
will love it. Holidays are around the corner and keep your eyes on sales of tv.

It should work on your Xbox One but when you buy a 4K HDR TV you have go to Setting app <Display and set up your picture. Here also a video guide to help you out. 4K on Xbox One Consoles

 

I don't have the S or X so cannot get 4K on my console, just wanted to know if the standard Xbox looks better on a 4K TV

If you're wondering if the picture will look better, as in sharper, then the answer to that would be a definite no. Will it look worse? Well, that really depends on the TV rather than the Xbox and how
well your TV scales 1080P resolution on the 4K display.

Regardless of 4K display, if you hook up a 1080P console to it, it will display in 1080P, indeed, the TV will drop to this resolution. I have the One X, so my enhanced games will play natively in 4K and
look great automatically. I do also use a Nintendo Switch on my 4K TV and it scales really well at lower resolutions.

As long as you buy a decent branded model, it should scale fine.

Hi, you will see a slight difference with an original Xbox one. Having an Xbox one S is a great leap forward but the Xbox one X is where you will see a huge difference. Yes it is worth investing in as you will then be ready for the Xbox one X.
