    Standard headset mic stopped working


    Just like the hundreds of people I've seen throught the threads, my mic stopped working. I can hear people talk, but they can't hear me talk. This happens ON BOTH PARTY AND IN GAME CHAT. This happens yesterday while playing Destiny. I thought people were
    ignoring me, until someone said I was too quite eventos though II had been talking nonstop.

    This is just ridiculous. People have been having this issue and MS doesn't seem to care. Some support folks reply once in a while giving the same answers that don't work to every one for almost a year.

    So, support guys, before asking me to do the same useless procedures you've asked everyone since january, let me say I have already gone through all the suggested testing and trobbleshooting pages. So please, don't come with that talk "we're working on it,
    thanks for your feedback" kinda crap you write everyone. Give us, Live Gold subscribers who CANNOT TALK, something new.

    Standard Mic stopped working

    Hey all,

    My standard mic that came with the xbox one stopped working. Not sure if it's broken or not but I can hear just can't talk. The Kinect acted as a mic just fine but I'd like to use a headset.

    Are there any settings I can change to fix this?

    yep, same issue... it is so frustrating.. I can't even talk to my friends which is such a main part of playing xbox for me. I've been a member since at least 2010 and feel like I'm being used in a way. this is such a major issue I wish they would actually
    do something about it. it makes me so upset I'm going to have to move move on from Xbox if this keeps going on so that I can play with my friends, as most of them have already moved on for these kind of issues..

    You should consider getting a different mic any time possible. Xbox standard Mics aren't that reliable if you plan on getting your hardcore gaming on. Buy some turtle beaches or afterglows. They'll last longer.

    If nothing helps and your Xbox One Headset is broken, it should be replaced. To order a replacement, go to the Xbox Online Service Center:

    Check "Replace an accessory"

    They need to fix the mics AND the parties. This is absolutely ridiculous...I have a stereo headset that will not work (I just love spending $50 on a headset that will not work) and have already had to go purchase a standard xbone headset bc the original
    stopped working. And the parties are dreadful. They don't even work most of the time...awful. Makes me want to go back to the 360 or get a PS4...

    Hello Thanosischunky, did your mic never work or did it work and then stopped working?

    Another thing that can influence is the connection standard of your headset, so that it can work on the Xbox it needs to be of the CTIA standard.
