but it is bundled with a dance game, so that probably jacked the price up a bit.

what do you think? is anyone who bought the kinectless system gonna buy the standalone add-on? does this change anything for people still on the fence about what version you might get?

Edit: Standalone Kinect for $150 at select stores while others only have Kinect bundles in the U.S. for $299 and $399 from what I've seen, still absurd in my opinion just to use a device that is literally the equivalent of a mic for
Mass Effect 3.

I heard M is going to make a standalone Kinect for US$150, when peps were complaining about paying $100 extra for a console with Kinect. I even commented 'so it costs US$50 for a bit of cardboard fancy packaging and delivery to XBL available countries and
authorized retailers.

Mainly cosmetic, and what Burnin was going on about.

 

I can't see anyone even being tempted to get a Kinect at that price.

Microsoft seem to be overestimating the desire people have for the Kinect once again.

I have no interest in kinect anymore. There's literally no games I want to play on it and the voice commands, being nice and all, aren't worth it to me.

 

Price sounds about right. Buying it separately, just like most electronics, it'll be more expensive than buying it bundled together.

 

Here in the UK 2nd hand kinects go for £20. I can't imagine people would pay more than £40 for a new one. As per usual MS are overestimating the value of kinect. No good pricing something around £100 when the majority of people wouldn't pay for it. Add
to that, a kinect bundle only costs £30-£50 more here in the UK.

 

^^ I've tried searching Amazon.co.uk and game.co.uk and I couldn't find any Xbox One Kinect being sold on their websites. Amazon had a couple being sold by random 3rd party individuals, but they were used, not new.

 

Because I'll assume they're not out yet and are only available 2nd hand for around £20 from Cex, Grainger games etc.

 

It's not exactly "stand alone" when it's bundled with a game.

 

I'm glad I got the Kinect less version no way I would buy a Kinect for that price.

Gee, I guess nobody could see a bundled or seperate console sales coming last year...... I thought nobody wanted Kinect anyway,

The holiday season is coming soon.... expect sales anyway possible

 

In my opinion it's not worth that price. If they want people to buy it, they should lower the cost.

 

$79.99-$99.99 is a good price for the Kinect 2.0 standalone IMO, although with a game I can see why it's $150. Personally I bought the Xbox One w/ the Kinect and don't regret it at all. Had I bought a Kinectless Xbox One I doubt I would pay $150 for it.
