Stand by for Titanfall reviews 5pm gmt

I love Titanfall, I want it very badly, but that... that is criminal.

 

I saw rev 3 review. I have always respected Adams opinion on a game.

 

I would agree with that. Rev 3 was one I was expecting a 4 from, but his review was really in depth, he was honest about what he liked and didn't like, and it sounds like he genuinely loves the game. I wasn't expecting that from him.

The independent shop selling it for £65 is a ripoff, it's not the first time he has done this and it won't be the last.

Trouble is, there are some that will pay extra just to play it early, personally I'd rather save the money, wait a few days and start playing it with the majority of my online friends/family.

 

Agreed. Besides, I have to work Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, then I'm off till Tuesday. So in way, that works best for me. Work done for the Week and I can Titanfall my brains out.

 

350,000 sales in USA last week

sales stand at 476.000 this week dont know the sales in the uk tho

 

Fifa got a higher score. Lol what an amazing game.

 

Ugh, seriously? We compare the scores of Shooters with Football sims now?

..ppfffft....lol....so?.....if some players find "the precious" to simply be average, who cares?....popularity doesn't automatically equate to quality....ever eat at McDonalds?...yuck, and they're probably the most popular restaurant on the planet ....the
game is OK man, but IGN or any critic for that matter is hardly an oracle

 

I don't really care, I just like seeing all those 9/10s surrounding a game I like.

 

makes sense I suppose, but think back.....was there ever a game that critics panned and yet for some reason you liked it anyway?......way back on the original Xbox, there was a ported PC title Tron 2.0 Killer App...critics hated it, but I was bored and the
Xbox 360 had just been released but there weren't enough on the shelves so I had to wait till more were available...so I played Xbox titles and happened to fine Tron 2.0 for about $10 bucks ...what the heck right?....turned out I actually enjoyed that game,
the story was interesting as were the game mechanics...and the light cycles, including the newly redesigned ''choppers" were a blast....in retrospect, it was certainly alot better than that Tron game they released on 360 for the recent Tron movie

 

I was reading the Metro article about Titanfall. Metro is one of the biggest UK papers & have daily games content. Anyway, they said that many reviewers were at an event hosted by Microsoft and ea, to play the game. Everyone suffered several disconnects,
and since, according to people on this forum, xbox live never has any problems, either the xbone or titanfall is causing it.

Anyway, after reading many reviews it seems tf is a decent little, if limited game. But it is 100% DEFINITELY NOT the system seller or fps game changer that Microsoft Ea respawn and xbone fanboys tried to fool you into thinking. Overhyped. Anyway here are
some review snippets from Metro.

"Your weaponry as a Pilot is relatively mundane by shooter standards, especially as this is meant to be a sci-fi game"

Speaking of which the various grunts and Terminator-like robots that move around the maps really don’t do very much at all. You stand almost no danger of being killed by them and apart from offering up a few free experience points if you shoot them they
serve no purpose other than to make the level look a little busier.

Titanfall’s biggest misfire though is the campaign multiplayer, which is almost laughably awful. Before release Respawn kept talking about it as being the experience of a single-player story mode but with multiplayer gameplay. But there are no extra set
pieces and only a few seconds of cut scene before a stage, which means that the entire storytelling effort relies on a bunch of clichéd characters jabbering on the radio.

"In fact you can very easily simulate Titanfall’s campaign multiplayer in any online shooter you like. Just get some family or friends to argue very loudly about something you have no interest in while you’re trying to play and bingo: instant campaign multiplayer.
It’s not even as if winning or losing has any effect on the story, with the dialogue adapting slightly but the outcome never altering.

It’s farcically poor and although the campaign multiplayer is only a minor part of the game it is a terrible bit of universe building. Together with the generic art design Titanfall has the least interesting backstory for any new game we can remember, with
two sides fighting over vaguely implied goals (there’s a milita and an evil corporation that makes robots) that ends merely in a bit of sequel begging.

Seems the reviews on respawn is coming back very good.game is soooooooooooooo fun can see why the pre order boomed from 350k to 490k in two days
