    Ssd nvme m.2

    :)

Will any SSD be compatible with the Xbox Series S?

basically it has to be an expensive proprietory ssd that is basically a version of m.2 nvme.

    Hi,

Unfortunately no. The USB 3.1 ports on the Series X have a maximum transfer speed of 550 MB/s. A fast Nvme would still be limited to the speed of the USB bus.

The Expansion card uses a PCIE 4.0 connection which is around 10X faster.

You can only install and play Series X games on internal or expansion card, no other drive is fast enough.

    Xbox series

Actually relative to the tech 239 is cheap for 1tb

A nvme m.2 is 400 bucks that even meets Sony's ps5 specs and ita not even enabled yet

No SSD will ever meet the performance of a nvme m.2

An m.2 sits on the system bus NOT AN external bus which will still need to goto a bus master and system bus you are talking about 500mbps on your ssd due to the limits of usb type c

If it was esata you could count in 2-3gbps but you still aren't in the system bus but the esata busmaster

Xboxs expansion counts in 4.8 gbps

    Huge difference

Unlike the ps5 where you need to disassemble the console and turn it off and putting the nvme in when enabled

The card is hotswapable and currently enabled.

Nvme m.2 pcie 4 is NEW tech

And the speeds blow away any of your hdds tech

Why can't you play series x games on ext ssd?

No Seagate and nvme are 4.8gbps

    Not 500mbps

And you are also sitting behind a not one but 2 buses

The nvme sits right on the pcie4.0 bus

    Seriously look up nvme m.2

Any usb device has yo run to the usb bus then the pcie system bus

Your bottleneck is the usb bus

If you used the ssd internally then you would be using sata bus which is faster but the bottleneck is the sata bus master then yo your pice then your south bridge then north bridge vs nvme they go on the pcie directly to your north bridge

Any hdd even ssd don't compare to a nvme

Ssd maybe fast but it is still bus master limited but nvme bypasses that issue by using the pcie4.0 directly onto the CPU memory etc is the north bridge

Why is fh5 stuttering so much

are you running it on a nvme ssd as that game requires a fast nvme ssd to run.
