SSD keeps needing reconnected after turning on Xbox One console. Any ideas why?

    Hi,

I have an Xbox One X and have 2 external hard drives attached. The 2nd one is an SSD that I got recently, I keep having to physically disconnect and then reconnect it when I turn on my Xbox so that the Xbox sees the games that I have on it. It's particularly
frustrating because it means that I lose game progress and have to boot games up fresh each time. Any ideas or anyone had the same issue?

    Cheers.

    :)

Thankfully game saves are also in the cloud. But personally, I would return the drive and exchange it or return it and get a different drive. I dont think it's an Xbox issue because your other drive functions correctly.

Never got that issue on my external hdds. I have connected 3 drives. None of them had that issue ever. Even a external ssd shouldnt work that way. I guess it could be an issue with your ssd itself..

bad idea Xbox Series X shows off its new removable memory card

I do think people are not really understanding why this is not a bad idea. SSD means that using a regular hard drive will lead to lower then expected performance of your new Xbox. With this expandable drive, you can keep the speed and have the option for
more space. if they were to up the space on the console that would lead to more cost. Most people probably won't need the extra space (or at least it would seem that way)
