Square realizes people like JRPG's...finally?

I stopped playing JRPGs when turn-based games went out 5 consoles ago.

That's just my opinion, not a fact. I'm sure there are fans of JRPGs out there, and by all means, enjoy the game, but to me, they just get so tiring given they pretty much share the same script.

I wish SquareEnix would make something different. Like, Parasite Eve 3?

 

There are lots of Turn Based JRPG still being released...

Sorry...it's the Temple of Trials Tournament, Class S (Solomon class) fight. Your prize is the Mandragorer ticket. I figured you would know what I was talking about. It's a pretty tough battle against Solomon's 3 golden familiars.

 

I have played quite a few games since Ni No Kuni, several of them have has similar tournaments, so I really don't know which ones I have completed and which ones I haven't done yet, if I have not done it yet I will at some point, I hammered Ni No Kuni pretty
hard so have taken a break from it for now, but the fact I did not trade it in means it will be played again and again. In fact I have traded in very few games on PS3 which is very rare for me, I normally buy a game, fill my boots and move on, but I tend to
keep JRPG because they are usually worth playing a few times.

What would you give the game out of 10?

 

Hmmm....It would be hard to give it a number, but I thought it was really well done and fun to play. Really liked it a lot.

 

I am OCD, games need a number, I'm thinking you like it enough to give it 9/10, am I way off the mark?

I'd give it a solid 8.5 which is good for me because I'm picky.

I give games like Fallout 3 and Skyrim a 10 because they are more my speed. Ni No Kuni was a very well done game, but I would have liked it even more if I was about 12-13 years old and that's not a criticism by any means. I liked Fable 3, but I would put
it in the same category, except Fable 3 had the awkward option to buy condoms and sleep with your buddy/start a family option. *shiver* Ni No Kuni was a very clean game and I appreciate that for once, the female characters weren't sexualized. It was just
a group of wholesome children that were going to fight to rid the land of evil. I think it would be a GREAT first rpg to give a kid to play without having to worry about the normally expected content of blood/gore/sex. But even as an adult, I enjoyed it
enough to complete it, which in the last couple of years is happening less and less for some unknown reason.

 

That's a fair score, I rate it at least a 9.0, the same rating I give Fallout 3.

And that is Studio Ghibli in a nutshell. Enjoyable for children, but deep enough for adults to find enjoyable also. I think Level-5 dumbed it down more than SG movies, but this was an incredible collaboration i think. And wholesome good entertainment
is seriously underappreciated atm.

I noticed you have played Child Of Eden, did you like it?

Have you played ReZ HD?

Rez HD is made by the same company but is a million times better in my opinion.

The gameplay is tighter, the environments are more atmospheric even though they are not as pretty, the music is much much better, the story is better and more meaningful and AREA 5 is so beautiful both visually and aurally it often makes me emotional.

I have put 1000's of hours into ReZ HD and not got bored, I played Child of Eden for about 20 hours and had enough?

I'd be really interested to hear your thoughts...

 

^^^^Ive already given you my thoughts because we already discussed this. Should be able to find it with the search button, and I dont want to rehash it, but I like played tons of Rez on PS2 (prob 90% of my playing time on that machine was Rez, ICO, Katamari
Damacy, and Crazy Taxi, all of which I played over and over; I really should have played more/different games on it), and love it, didnt touch Rez HD much, but I like Child of Eden better for a variety of reasons (which are in the prior thread if you find
it).
