Spyware question for Xbox One

i like to watch anime on my fansub sites with Edge app rather than on Hulu and so on cause my fabsub site is free. it is maintainted with ads and viewer donations etc. so ad pop-ups r not unusual when watching a show.

today i got a wierd popup saying spyware detected on my Xbone. it was blue screen in background with in big text "SYSTEM CRASH" with a pop-up text message over it saying Microsoft services detected spyware at my IP address and to contact support with some
woman's voice reading the thing out loud. it had a error code spyware somthin.exe with a phone number on the bottom. i wasnt sure if it was legit cause it looked pretty real to me but i have seen fake alerts before while watching on my PC so i know to be suspicious
of every wierd pop-up i see even remotely mentioning a breach.

i have watching my fansubs even on my 360 since Explorer app was added and this is the 1st time i have seen this message. if its real i would like some help but if NOT i feel its my duty to inform others of this thing.

Quick answer, no one opposes the xbox doing more than gaming, the do oppose excess spyware and extras that hinder the xbox's potential to do gaming well. Using your example, no one opposes a smart phone doing more than phone calls, but if they want to add
extras it should probably be pretty good at making call first.

[/quote]Erm, what spyware exactly? You are aware XBox One will be running 3 OS', right? Modified for the console obviously, and because it's on a protected network I seriously doubt people are opposing spyware corssing over
to consoles (or even their smart phones for that matter) being a factor at all. Just saying.

 

Anyway to get malware on your xbox 360?

I recently tried to connect to a router that wasn't mine, and it connected for a sec, then wouldn't work, so the question is, is there a way to get spyware/malware on your xbox 360?

I thought I would ask here.

yea... i just got the same popup again. this time i remem the error message. it says error code spyware176.exe so im totally sure this things isnt legit. cant be...right???

 

Restore console to factory settings and watch out for suspicious sites / apps / content next time
