    Sporadic Sound on Headphones

Hi,the sound on my headphones works just sporadically,I tried different headphones, they work on different mobile phones,I tried any solving advice in the internet,I even put my xbox back to factory mode,I bought the xbox 3 months ago,my monitor doesnt
have speakers and no speaker connections, the sound worked in the beginning, now I have permanently drop outs,I dont think that the headphone jacks are damaged,it seems more as if it would switch between different modes,I read about issues with the dolby atmos, but
even after factory reset, using the standard settings same dropouts, tried anything recommended in the internet, anyone an idea ?

    :)

    Hi,thank you for the reply

    The buzzer works,just tried,works.

    Power cycle done,no change.

    Controller is updated.

    Another Normal headphone,no headset,same issue.

Already done full console reset cause I thought it might be from the dolby atmos installation but also that didnt fix the issue

Strange is,that im sure I went into the audio menu hour ago when the headphones sporadically worked, than I started a game, sound went off, after that audio under the settings in the home menu to put on mic werent there anymore, also now its not there.

I have no second controller,I consider getting spdif speakers,to me it seems its a driver issue,as if switching between different audio drivers, one that works, one that doesn't,with the dolby atmos it worked when the speaker settings were grayed out,not working
when it jumped by itself to choosable speaker options again.

I dont know,Id just like to play gamws, watch youtube, netflix, blurays, like in the beginning without sound interuptions for an hour till it suddenly jumps by itself in the working mode, but when I wanna enjoy, next dropout.

Batterys are fine, these dropouts also happen with usb cable, thats why I bought a bunch of batteries.

No more idea, bought xbox just 3 1/2 months ago,a few games, but like this it doesnt make fun playing any.

I suspect it gotta do with the dolby atmos installation, cause even after full reset the option appears still in the menu, and in the beginning when I bought the xbox there were absolutely no dropouts, probably its the controller, but it sounds more in the
headphones as if xbox would change drivers before sound dropouts, sound dropins.

Probably you cant help, probably just speakers, but thank you for the attempt.

    Hello
    Rough Jin

Thanks for reaching out to Xbox forums support!

Do you have another controller that you can test the headset on? Maybe the issue is within the 3.5mm jack inside of the controller.

Here is a list of troubleshooting steps you can try.

    1. Power cycle console

    2. Go to settings> Kinect and Devices> Devices and Accessories> [...]> Assign controller to account> Update control> unassign account> test headset/chat

    3. Make sure mic is "ON" Press the home button> go to the Gear on the
menu> Audio> Turn Mic off and on. OR go to settings> Kinect and Devices> Devices and Accessories> [...]>Audio> Mic on> Adjust volume.

    4. You can test your controller if it is broken by "Buzzing" the controller. The buzzfeature is connected to the headset port, and if the controller does not buzz then the port may be damaged.
[Turning on Vibration if it does not "Buzz"> Settings> Ease of Access>
Controller> Vibration Settings> Turn on Vibration].

    5. Some mics are detachable and may be damaged so try testing the headset on another device to see if it works (Example: windows 10.

Test the Headset with Skype Test or Voice Recorder). If there is an issue with using the headset on an Xbox controller, you can try using a headset adaptor.

    6. Make sure there is no Enforcement on the account.

    7. Make sure the controller is not full of dust in the headset port (you can use compressed air to clear the dust).

    8. Make sure controller is fully charged/ change battery type.

    9. Use a headset adapter or standard headphones (Main fix)

    10. Soft or full console reset. (may not work all the time)

Hope this helps. Let us know!

    sound on headphones

The only way to adjust the sound without any adjuster within the headphones itself is to change the sound mix by going into the settings itself within the Xbox One dashboard.

Configure sound and chat mixer settings

Sound mixer allows you to adjust the blend of sound between visible apps. Chat mixer lets you adjust the blend of sound between your game and your chat communications.

    1. Go to the Home screen.
    2. Press the Menu button on the controller.
    3. Select Settings.

Note You can say “Xbox, go to settings” from any screen, but you’ll need a controller to navigate once you’re on the
      Settings screen.
    4. Select Display & sound.
    5. Select the type of audio mix you’d like to adjust.

    no sound at the headphones

I thank you but I have already followed those aids and made me understand that my adapter, attached to the xbox360 controller, works great. the problem is that when I start a game, any game, I don't hear any sound.
