Spontaneous button issues?

Hi,

I have an XBox One that is exhibiting weird behavior?

It will randomly turn itself on.

While playing it will sometimes shut itself off. I will hear the "chime" as if the power button were pressed right before it powers off. I don't believe it is a thermal issue as it does this sometimes within a minute or two after powering on.

Sometimes, it will spontaneously eject a disc.

Sometimes when it ejects it will keep beeping to pull in the disc and re-eject it. When it does this, I have to pull power to get it to stop.

Any thoughts?

Xbox One death knell

Do you hear the crowd? That's not fake cheering like at the MS event, that's spontaneous. That cheering for Sony is the death knell of the Xbox One.

 

Have you given your console a proper power cycle? That can usually clear up the system's caches to stop weird behavior like you described above.

Do you get any sorts of error messages on the screen as well when your console acts up?

If it continues to exhibit the behavior as above, you may want to consider
scheduling a repair.

 

Yeah....I've tried power cycling. Crud. I didn't want to spend $115 to have it replaced.
