Splitting Xbox account and microsoft account

the microsoft account IS the xbox account, they cannot be split or transferred

From what I understand you have a Xbox account (Child) which is linked to a Microsoft (Parent) account.

On your Parent/Microsoft account please try visiting Family Settings and Press on the Child > Manage Consent > After this try updating any details linked to your account.

xbox accounts cannot be removed as they are the microsoft account, nothing can be split or removed.

just to add, the reason you cannot remove the Xbox account is that IS the Microsoft account, the Microsoft account covers lots of services from Microsoft and obviously they cannot be removed or split as it is just ONE account.
