    Splitter/Switcher/Matrix Not Working


    Hello,

    I use an Xbox One X with a newer 4K LG TV and then have a projector screen that drops down over the front of the TV, powered by an Optoma UHD30 projector.

    Each device works fine when plugged directly into the Xbox (ACTIVE HDMI for the projector), but when I introduce any sort of splitter (1X2 splitter), the XBOX stops recognizing 4K Capabilities.

    For instance: when the projector is plugged directly into the XBOX using ACTIVE HDMI, NETFLIX and Prime offer up 4K/HDR content...those apps recognize the system is 4K compatible.

    But when I use a spliiter or even a Matrix, those apps "think" its only 1080p - they stop showing available 4k content.

    It must be Spliter. Although, I had a problem with Matrix 4k discs among all others. I change it on Amazon and now is working. But in my X blue ray drive.

    Hi chcady004,

    You need to check the specifications of the splitter that you are using.

    The most likely problem is that the splitter itself is not 4K compatible, so all content going through it can only be 1080P or less

    Yes, if you're using an older splitter with an older HDMI format. It will not display 4k.

    To verify, this is going directly to the device and not through a receiver or any other device like a splitter or switcher?

    A bit of a complicated problem

    Best Buy does carry a '3 in 1 out' HDMI splitter (eForCity - 3 Port High Speed HDMI Switcher Splitter Switch for HDTV 1080p)

    Normally the HDMI signal takes video and audio, not sure why you still must use the 3.5mm unless the HDMI to DVI drops the audio signal.

    If this doesn't work, there are other splitter type devices out there that will let you connect computers/consoles up to a single monitor. Belkin has a few button type splitters that will work as well.

    What kind of monitor are you using? Sounds like the manufacturer didn't want anyone gaming on it.
