I was using a 4x splitter with the "out" HDMI to a 5040UB Epson Projector. I plugged the xbox into one of the 4 input hdmi spots on the splitter. My laptop was put into another and a TV Box into another. It did not work. The screen frequently blanked
out and during any video activity from any of the input devices did the same. I changed all the HDMI cables to the best 4x I could buy and this still didn't help.

However, when I connected the splitter to the Xbox one x (one of two HDMI connections) and the Xbox one directly to the projector everything worked perfectly. I could switch between any of the inputs to the splitter. Of course when I wanted to use the
xbox one x for all the xbox stuff I simply went to the xbox home screen and away things worked with no issues.

there is a petition or something to create a new time splitters, the dev team said they will make it if X ammount of people sign it or something.

I didn't like time splitters much but a new one could be good if done right.

I have not had an issue using a splitter. I have a splitter going from both my Xbox One and Xbox One X. The One X goes from splitter to TV on one output, and then to a capture card to monitor on my other. One thing that might cause it is display capability
mismatch or DHCP detection on the splitter. There is nothing that is preventing using a splitter, though sometimes it might cause display issues based on the DHCP handshake if there is an app open that turns off capture features, such as Netflix or Hulu,
where I'll have to restart the Xbox to clear out those apps blocking display.

I recently switched from Elgato to an Avermedia capture card because I had a few issues with the Elgato, but none of those things you described should cause the device to break. And as far as the splitter goes, it shouldn't break anything either, but you
might want to look at what you have and how it handles DHCP. I've used a RocketFish one prior and another which brand I can't remember right now, but they should not cause the broken unit, to drive that home.

Let me know if you have some specific questions about my setup, but I can't see anything that would cause issues with yours outside of faulty units.

Is your Xbox One X properly ventilated?

If so, try to unplug the electricity cord and connect it again. Also, try to connect the console directly to the power outlet and not via a splitter.
