Splitscreen Party Chat

My husband and I play COD MW2 split screen on an Xbox Series S. We are using CaseTop enclosed headsets. We can both be in a party at the same time with other players, can both hear and speak to other players... But we are unable to hear one another in our headsets.

How do we go about hearing one another in our own headsets? Neither of us are muted for the other when we look at settings. Even though we are next to each other in the same room, it is difficult to hear one another so getting that audio in our headsets would be a major benefit to our gaming.

My husband has Gold, but I do not. Is it a Gold issue? Is it a headset issue? Is it a controller configuration issue? Is it a settings issue?

I have searched online and found many (older) posts with similar complaints, but never a solution.

Ugh. Overall just so inconvenient. Yea i’m not going to bother if it’s because of gold or whatnot. everything i’ve read from older posts says xbox doesn’t support “local chat” and that only one headset/ mic per xbox. The only semi solution i’ve found is just connecting my headset to my phone and joining the party through the xbox app. not as bad as a lag as discord, seems pretty good just can’t hear game audio though my headset anymore which sucks too but ig i just have to choose between that or my partner on what i can’t hear through the headset.

I give up but good luck to ya. Maybe they will respond or fix it one day 🤷‍♀️

Me and my bf have the same issue. We play together and with his best friends and we can hear them just not each other. Have you found a solution yet? We tried just connecting to discord but ofc we both can’t use discord to talk both on the xbox. One of us would have to be on our phone and there is a serious lag and it’s not worth it plus we would have to have game audio thru the tv. This sucks.

Still no idea on how to solve. And if the solve requires the purchase of another console, game, Gold account, etc... then that's a hard pass.

I've read about the discord "hack" via mobile, Maehoney, but didn't even bother trying it due to then not having in-game audio. I didn't even think about the lag aspect.

Microsoft Support, it'd be great if you chimed in here and helped solve this!

Why party chat? Just talk to the guy sitting next to you if your splitscreening, duh? I dont understand the motive either? Some game mode allow party chat, just play those?
