    Very specific question.

    Is it possible to play split screen to split screen online?

    Borderlands GOTY.

    Me and my wife play split screen on our tv.

    Our friends across town play split screen on their tv.

    If we try to join our friends, it only let's one of us (either me or my wife) play, but not both.

    Is there a way for 4 people to play split screen to split screen while on two different consoles and two different tv's and 2 different accounts?

    The only answer I could find was from 2011...I'm hoping there's an update to that answer of "No".

    It depends entirely on the game.

    I know on Borderlands 2 you could play splitscreen online. I'd play splitscreen with my brother on our Xbox 360, and a third friend would join us online. But I don't know if it would let two groups of people playing splitscreen also play online together.

    you can play split screen online but i think in borderland you can only play with two persons online some other games like Halo MCC can be played online using a splitscreen for 4 persons

    Not many games will have split screen for online play as it affects frame rate. You could check Split/Second that definitely has split screen, I'm not sure if it allows you to play split screen online tho.

    Split screen is a dying thing. Most people play online multiplayer these days and don't bother with split screen. Now I like split screen, as it's always a fun time playing with friends and family. But, the way gaming is going, they're going to focus on
    online rather than local.

    But, expect to see some games with split screen added on. It all relies on the developers working it in.
