Split Screen headsets

Thank you for posting to the Microsoft community.

Based on the description, it seems that your daughter only can hear the music background when having split screen. I'm glad you took the time to consider this for us so we can help you figure it out for you.

Before anything else, let me ask you the following questions below so that I fully understand the problem.

1. Is this working fine before?

2. What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?

3. What is the make and model of your controllers and headsets?

I would suggest resetting you Xbox console , if you are using it and see to it if it fixes the issue.

If you're ready to reset your console to the factory default settings, follow these steps:

1. Press the Xbox button  to open the guide.
   
2. Select Profile & system > Settings > System > Console info > Reset console.
   
3. On the Reset your console? screen, you'll see three options:
   
   • Reset and remove everything. This option resets the console to factory settings. All user data, including accounts, saved games, settings, home Xbox associations, and all games and apps will be deleted.
     
   • Reset and keep my games & apps. Use this option as your first choice when troubleshooting. It will reset the OS and delete all potentially corrupted data without deleting your games and apps.
     
   • Cancel. To back out of this screen, simply select this button.

Hey there EasyTarget197!

What you are experiencing is not game specific. Split screen audio for split screen games is not an available feature on the Xbox One. What this means is that all headsets playing a split screen game will receive combined audio.

Please let us know if there is anything else we can help with and we will be standing by.

if you are split screening you can not both use the headsets. Only the main gamertag can.

As far as I know, if you're playing Split Screen on the same console, you can't talk to each other via headsets.

Headset communication only works on two separate consoles.
