Spinning disk, heat on top.

I have my Xbox on Instant-On. When it is "off" sometimes it downloads/updates something, hence the crackling sound, no problems here. But when there is a disk in the tray, the updating process (or whatever it is doing) seems to take for ever, sometimes an
hour none stop. The heat that comes from the top is insane. The disk is spinning and this seems to influence the heating issue. To counter this, every time I stop gaming, I have to take the game disc out to avoid this issue. So far, a week later this seems
to help.

Of course, I would much rather leave the disc in. But the Xbox gets way too hot when doing nothing. Sometimes I feel the top, even when there is no noise and it is just crazy how hot it is. I need some advice on this issue.

You moved the xbox when the disk was spinning. When you buy it, it says on a sticker: DO NOT move the xbox when a disk is spinning (something like that).

Judging by what you're saying here - you may have a hardware issue inside your Xbox One console.

To have this looked into, you'll need to send your console to a Service Centre for repair or replacement.

If your console is still within warranty - this is completely free, and you'll be provided with 30-days Xbox Live and an extra 30 days of warranty for your product.

If it isn't within warranty, you will need to purchase an Extended Service Plan.

You will need to register your device using the Serial Number on the sticker on the bottom of the console.

you should install all your games to your hard drive. they won't spin causing heat and scratch's on your disk.

Ok I tryed a different thing hitting the top of the console while the disk was going in note not to hard or soft just right and the disk started spinning and installing

Probably it isn't the hard drive disc that is spinning fast, once the console was turned off. I think it is the fan that is trying to cool down the hardware. Did you check if the console heats a lot before turning it off? Do you have your console in a tight
space or with stuff on top of it, preventing its cooling? Is your room too heated?
