    Spend as much as you can to boost your 2017 MyVIP Rank


    Hello, After seeing so much advertising to:

    "Make sure to spend as much as you can to boost your 2017 MyVIP Rank"

    noticing I was less than $200 from reaching 5 star rank.

    I purchased the following: on Dec.31st 2016 Eastern Standard Time

    Tom Clancy`s Ghost Recon Wildlands - Gold Edition - Pre-Order $99.99

    Halo Wars 2 Ultimate Edition - Pre-Order $79.99

    Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 - Pre-Order $59.99

    I only purchased these to boost my star rank to 5 stars

    I legally purchased these on Dec.31st my local time EST

    I have Microsoft email time stamp receipt for them on the 31st

    Tom Clancy at 8:53pm Halo Wars 8:59pm Sniper Ghost Warrior 9:38pm

    Xbox Live Rewards has given a January instead of December purchase date

    Again I only purchased these to boost my star rank to 5 stars

    and now I see have been given 15,000 Rewards Credits for these three

    titles for "Pre-Order Punchcard Reward" which I would have NEVER done

    because at 4stars 8% that I am currently at I would have received $19.20 by

    just purchasing them on release day $4.20 more than $15 (15,000 Rewards Credits)

    Again let me state: I legally purchased these on Dec.31st my local time

    ONLY TO BOOST MyVIP RANK, I would like one of the following to happen

    otherwise I may not even be a 1 star by this time next year:

    1: Remove the Punchcard Reward and add the 3 purchased orders to

    2016 MyVIP Rank which will put me at 5 stars ( I prefer This )

    This puts me at 10% which means probably more purchases in 2017 than 2016

    or

    2: since the three orders are Pre-Order games not yet released, I

    would like them to be canceled and my xbox account credited

    I did not get rewards

    Hello mmpp15,

    We see that you were awarded for your purchases in December 2015. You can see a complete history of your Credit and deposit events from the MyStatement on the MyRewards page. You can then use the dates listed for your deposits to see their deposit as currency
    from your commerce page at (Sign in to your Microsoft account), where they will be listed as a refund with a negative amount.

    Regarding VIP, from the FAQ:

    Will my Star Rank change from year to year?



    In September 2015, a year after we first launched MyVIP, we re-evaluated the program and made adjustments where necessary. In order to respond to our growing membership numbers and expanded regions, we adjusted the levels of MyVIP to better focus on offering
    additional monthly missions and other ways to earn for more members around the globe.



    Based on community feedback from our members, there was some confusion about when and how MyVIP would be recalibrated on a yearly basis. In order to simplify and streamline the process, and to let you know exactly how much time you have to build your rank,
    moving forward we will recalibrate your Star Rank progress based on the calendar year. That means you currently have until December 31, 2017 to boost your starting 2018 MyVIP Star Rank, which will be based on your overall spend between January 1 to December
    31, 2017.

    In the future, we will consistently recalibrate your MyVIP Star Rank based on your calendar year spend from January 1 to December 31. We are also continually focusing on adding even more ways to Reward our most loyal VIP members with additional special offers
    and VIP Exclusives events, as well as with the addition of the new MyVIP page and expanded MyVIP experience.

    Preorders do not count towards VIP. So they could not be moved to count towards your VIP rank.

    Why give a Pre-Order Punchcard that is for January 1 – March 31, 2017

    on orders that were placed in December as stated I would receive more

    as a 4 star gold at 8% than the Punchcard reward

    Pre-orders, game consumables, and subscriptions are not eligible for MyVIP, as stated in our FAQ:

    What content on the Xbox Store is eligible for MyVIP?

    Normally, most purchases for Xbox 360 and Xbox One from the Xbox Store qualify, including full Games on Demand titles (excluding game pre-orders), arcade games, indie games, game add-ons, game Season Passes, movies, TV shows, TV seasons, themes and avatar
    items. In-game consumables, Xbox Live Gold memberships, Groove Music Passes, Microsoft Movies & TV Season Passes, and the purchase or redemption of Microsoft Points or Xbox Gift Cards, still do not qualify.

    Since we use the UTC time zone, your purchases were recorded as made on the first.

    Since pre-orders are not eligible for MyVIP, we cannot award your purchases. Furthermore, we do not handle any user transactions. As Smwutches says, if you would like to cancel your order, you will have to contact billing support.
