Xbox One on DVI PC Monitor with analog audio?

Excuse the double post but just realised you could also try get the audio out directly from the spdif connection if you have a sound system with spdif input. This would be your cheapest option

  3. Problems connecting Xbox One to external speakers

The only way to get sound out is hdmi or Spdif.

If your devices can't accept hdmi it's likely that it accepts Spdif. My system is over 10 years old and it works just fine using 5.1 DTS via Spdif.

Not sure about your comcast box. Have you tried to connect the optical audio out from your XBox One to your home theater system or through your tv to your home theater system? I would think that would accomplish the same goal.

  5. Well, after I posted this comment, I after a few minutes, realized I was attaching it wrong lol. so I got it connected to the set top box (still didn't work) apparently those inputs are inactive to the public, from what I was told. now, regarding my stereo,
it's not a current one, it doesn't have HDMI or SPDIF connections. That being said, I have to go to the computer store, and buy this converter, and supposedly, that will fix my issue.

    I will update.

Xbox One outputs all audio as 7.1 channels even when source material is not 7.1 resulting in silent rear speakers

    Hi there,

Luckily I know this type of system very well from building a multiple 2.1 systems from the spdif to Jack/Phono build

I assume you are using a model that does have SPDIF (Yes it is a silly question but some models do not have it.) and Have seen work around using a dual connection in settings method. The hdmi being 7.1 uncompressed setting and the SPDIF being bit stream
out. Try that sound settings set up to see if that helps it out.
