Sparring partners

Ive gotten pretty decent at playing this game except for the PvP. I lose almost every time. Would like to find some people to spar w/ so I can get some pointers on what it is I'm doing wrong. If interested please feel free to drop a line.

You might want to include your sl.

 

My first characters lvl is 169, lol cause I just kept leveling up w/o knowing what I was doing. My current lvl is 35, but I don't have a problem w/ starting a new character if I have to.

 

Try upgrading your gear. Go for backstabs and a lot of PVP players use some sort of magic(not including pyromancies) so you may wanna invest in doing this yourself.

You can join the Darkmoon covenent that way you don't lose anything when you die. But you don't get humanity when you win unfortunately.

 

Oh, please don't fish for backstabs. It's annoying, makes the fight boring, and you'll end up getting yourself backstabbed more often than not. If the opportunity presents itself, take it, but don't go looking for it unless you're forced into it.

I'd offer to spar with you, but I haven't had time lately to get on and play, and I won't be able to the next 2 weeks. So, I'll echo noobsforlife5's suggestion that you should join a covenant and start invading. It's probably the best way to get experience.
With your higher level character, you are probably best served by the Darkmoons since they invade down. You could try the Forest Hunters, but that would be more challenging as you'd find yourself in a lot of 2v1 situations.

Also, many players do use some sort of magic, but it's by no means a requirement, and most magics can be countered pretty easily unless you spend a lot of time learning how best to use them.

 

Alternatively, you could always just hang out in Human form in the forest. You'll get a lot of invasions there. You won't need to be in a covenant for that. You could also grab a Red Soap Stone and just throw down your sign in a high traffic area.

 

The RSS is also good, but you need to be human. Also, if you use your sl 169 character, you may not get a lot of summons since the RSS invades up instead of down and most PvPers cap at sl 120 or lower.

 

I'll be willing to help. All of my builds are around Lv 80.

 

Undead burg is a good place to practice a there is a mixture of pros and beginners, either wait for RSS or sap one down and wait to be summoned (Be warned there are many ganks and people will make you fight other phantoms instead of killing the host.)
