Spammed by friend requests for a couple of days. What can I do ?

Hello ! I constantly receive friend requests from account I've never heard of for around a week now. It's at the rate of about 100 requests/day so it is very annoying.

It comes from account of various regions playing different games, some have a score point of 0G while others can have more than 5000G. Some also have personalized gamertag. Though from what I've seen on their feed they add a bunch of people (way more than
50) at the exact same time.

It happened after the update a few days ago where the party icon has been changed.

Is there anything I can do to prevent it ? Is Microsoft working on it and/or aware of the issue ?

I've been experiencing weird things from the latest update.
Some of my friends just disappeared on my friends list overnight. No one has access to my profile, except me and I use 2 steps verification of course.

If they're just friend requests and not sending messages then you can ignore them. If you are getting messages from the tags with 0 gamerscore then just go to their profile and block them so they cannot contact you again.

Do not reply to their messages as that will unblock them and get them to message you more.

Hi,

You can use your privacy settings to choose who can contact you:

Settings -> Account -> Privacy & online safety -> Xbox Live privacy -> View details & customize -> Communication & multiplayer -> Others can communicate with voice, text, or invites.

I guess this is the only option.

Have you heard about similar cases ? I'm aware about the bots messages but friend request spam is another level ahah

Like my fellow Ambassadors, I would start by changing your privacy settings as mentioned above. Also as mentioned, report and blocking as many as possible so the Enforcement Team can look into it. Also blocking them will prevent them trying to send messages
to you if they are doing so. With getting and many as you are I understand this can be a little difficult, but like I said, try to get as many as you can.

Again, with this amount of requests you’re getting, I may also recommend changing your notification settings, because I know it can be frustrating when you are trying to play a game or watch a movie:

Press the Xbox button on your controller > System > Settings > Preferences > Notifications
