Spam messages on Xbox one

can anyone help I keep getting Spam Messages on my Xbox from I don't know and are not on my friends list asking me do I want to buy FIFA points so far I've had about five such and one just now with a web link in it, messages and apart from blocking them
what else can I do or what can Microsoft do

Receiving Spam on Xbox One Messages

I am not sure if this is the correct place to add this, but here it goes.

Lately, I have been receiving a lot of spam messages on my Xbox One account. It normally asks me to go on a site (Which i will not add here) and do a raffle of some sort.

Out of paranoia, I changed my password on my account, but I am wondering if everyone else has received this and is this something I should be worried about?

These accounts are causing a bit of a stir with many users but it's absolutely nothing to worry about. These are spam accounts and they are totally non invasive. That doesn't excuse the inconvenience but the best way to deal with this is the same way you
would deal with any other account that breaches the 'Code of Conduct' / 'Terms of Use', which is to report them and block communications. You can do this via their profile pages.

Of course you will also want to make sure that you do not visit any of the sites they try to lure you into. It's better to be safe than sorry.

Block the person & report via your console,that's all you can do.

 

I've been getting the same. It's happened to me twice in the last couple of days and both messages were about buying FIFA points. For now, all you can do is block and report the gamertag, as Badger suggested, but if someone has found a way to automate the
sending of spam messages on Live, hopefully MS will be able to shut that down.

 

I got one the other day I am going to do what badger said.

 

I keep getting them as well for FIFA ,have blocked user but i get another one a few days later with a different gamertag.I always report them and tell microsoft that i am sick to death of getting them ,but as usual no official line from them.It would help
if there was a check box for spam in the report section.Best thing is ive never played FIFA !!!

 

yes the only thing you can do is block and report when you get massages from people you don't know

 

I do and I phoned MS and there not going to do anything about it

 

Blocking and reporting isn't going to stop it, these messages are coming from a botnet and we the consumers need to raise awareness that we won't put up with it. I propose we spam Phil Spencer's twitter account @XboxP3 until something is done.

the only way to stop this is to change your settings so only friends can chat or messege you

You can change your privacy settings to prevent any spammers, gamers not on your friends list from contacting you.

4:Go to Xbox Live Privacy

5: Go to view details & cusomize

6: Go to communication & multiplayer

7: Change Everyone to friends
